Well, after all the news from Corpuscle and the czech press I think it's safe to assume Nicole will play in NYC. Draw is being held on wednesday so I thought it would be better to post this thread earlier. Let's hope Nicole is 100% healthy and prepared to give her opponents a run for their money at her most beloved GS tournament.
Pojď Nicole :rocker:

(hopefully this thread won't jinx her and she will really play )

I really think Nicole will be fine to play, and I think she can beat anyone her with maybe an exception of Henin. Im really not concerned for her at all for some reason, I think she will be perfectly fine like in RG, and I think she could still make the quarters, semis, or final. Maybe I'm just being hopeful, but I honestly think she could still get far

I really can't wait since Wimbledon... I know it isn't Nicole's fault but she was my sad part of holidays

hm.. I really can't and don't expect any big result... 4th round or Quarterfinal would be fantastic result for me... yeah draw is made on Wednesday so tomorrow.. does anybody know if there'll be any live draw ceremony as Wimbledon and all GS had? :)

I think Nicole'll really participate at USO because there would be some news about it I think.. and also they were 100% sure that Nicole'll play before 2-3 weeks so I think she really will and I'm happy for that.. I hope Nicole will reach 4th round and then get Kuznetsova :p I'm sure Eurosport would show this match... I think ES will show all matches of 1-4 seeded :)

GOOD LUCK NICOLE!!!

POJĎME NICOLE!!! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

I don't know if we can make a comparison.Compared to Rg, she had a tough illness, she's probably lacking of muscles and physical condition. It can be just a little, but sometimes, it's enough to be beaten earlier in the draw.I hope that I'm wrong and Nicole will be fine and 100% ready to make her comeback at her favorite slam. The first round will tell us how she feels. She needs to play some easy matchs to start so she'll find her rhythm rapidly.

Allez Nicole!

I'm pretty confident Nikki will play as well.

She'll be seeded 13th. And will draw one of the following players in the third round:
17. Tatiana Golovin
18. Shahar Peer
19. Sybille Bammer
20. Lucie Safarova
21. Alona Bondarenko
22. Katarina Srebotnik
23. Tathiana Garbin
24. Francesca Schiavone

And for the 4th round:
1. Justine Henin
2. Maria Sharapova
3. Jelena Jankovic
4. Svetlana Kuznetsova

I hope Nikki manages to avoid Golovin in the third round, and Henin and the 4th. As much as I'd love to see Nikki vs. Masha, it'd mean that only one of them would make the Quarters, :(

Nicole drew peer in the 3rd round and SHARAPOVA in the 4th and Chakvetadze so the Nicole vs Maria match looks like it should finally happen :D not a bad draw for nicole its gonna be tough but it was allways gonna be tough with her rank but its not the toughest part of the draw GO NICOLE :D

Let's see her first round match. But if she is feels fine and is ready to play then meeting with Sharapova is highly possible.

Rod the Bama
Aug 22nd, 2007, 06:36 PM
The early draw looks favorable for Nicole, but then it gets much tougher, starting with a potential matchup against Peer. I really feel that if Nicole is well and can get back to the level she was playing at before the illness, i can see her reaching the round of 16 in a potential matchup against Maria, which i really hope will finally happen.

Tennace
Aug 22nd, 2007, 09:26 PM
If Nicole gets by Kudryavtseva and Peng, I think that would be good warm up for Peer, who is slumping, then for Sharapova and Chakvetadze. I really think this is a good draw and Nicole could make the semis or final :)

yohaneuano4
Aug 22nd, 2007, 09:50 PM
Pe'er has not been that good when I've seen her play (not a lot until recently). In fact if you look at the rankings now I'd consider Pe'er to be the cut off point for the third tier of quality players. I think it's too early to topple someone like Sharapova but if she can comprehensively beat a few players (playing well and not having to stay on court too long) she may be in with a chance :bounce:

Tough draw for Nikki.

Alla is extremely unpredictable, and Peng is quite handy on hardcourts. I'm hoping Tu can take out Peer in the first round.

I really hope both Nikki and Maria make the 4th round. I've been waiting sooooooo long for this matchup.

After Sharapova won her Wimbledon title back in 2004, Nicole was the first player to beat Masha at WTT. So it wouldn't surprise me if Nicole beats Masha again.

The draw looks tough but I like it.Anyway, I will take this round after round because Nicole's game is too unpredictable.

This sort of draw could be a big breakthrough for Nicole.Too bad she's not totally healthy. With a good Nicole, I wouldn't be afraid to say she can make the semi-final.

I think MJF said during the Hantuchova-Szavay match (when they were talking about injured players) that Vaidisova has been training in Florida for a bout 10 days, so that means before her 1st match she would have had about 2 weeks of training before it. I think Nicole will do fine, she seems to be healthy and training hard again.

The ladies doubles draw was released eariler today and surprisingly Nicole will be playing in it. Here`s her section of the draw:

Katarina Srebotnik (SLO) & Ai Sugiyama (JPN) (3) vs Chunmei Ji (CHN) & Shengnan Sun (CHN)
Michaella Krajicek (NED) & Agnieszka Rawanska (POL) vs Lucie Hradecka (CZE) & Renata Voracova (CZE)
Casey Dellacqua (AUS) & Nicole Pratt (AUS) vs Hilary Barte (USA) & Alexandra Mueller (USA)
Angela Haynes (USA) & Ahsha Rolle (USA) vs Vania King (USA) & Emilie Loit (FRA) (15)
Tathiana Garbin (ITA) & Shahar Peer (ISR) (12) vs Nadia Petrova (RUS) & Nicole Vaidisova (CZE)
Su-Wei Hsieh (TPE) & Alla Kudryavtseva (RUS) vs Tatiana Poutchek (BLR) & Tamarine Tanasugarn (THA)
Janette Husarova (SVK) & Patty Schnyder (SUI) vs Mariya Koryttseva (UKR) & Aravane Rezai (FRA)
Karin Knapp (ITA) & Francesca Schiavone (ITA) vs Nathalie Dechy (FRA) & Dinara Safina (RUS) (7)

I`m pretty surprised that Nicole is even playing doubles. Maybe she felt that she needs some more time of the court, which i`m all for. As for Nadia being her partner, i think she`s not a bad partner since she`s pretty experienced playing doubles, but at the same time i think that Nicole would`ve been better off teaming up with someone better like Daniela. In fact i really would love to see Nicole and Dani team up one of these days. I think that they have some potential together since they complement each other and they obviously are a very sexy team. Plus we could use either Hantusova or Team Czechoslovkia as catchy nicknames. Anyway i hope that Nicole does well in doubles. She needs to get in as much time on the court as possible. Plus i like to see her have some fun out there with Nadia.

I`m glad that Nicole got the win, but i`m not pleased with the way it was done. She should`ve closed it out sooner. She played way too tight. Plus i didn`t like seeing her smashing the racket. :( Nicole really needs to work on keeping that temper in check. Anyway i`m glad that Nicole rebounded very nicely by sweeping the tiebreaker in love. Finally i must say that Nikki looked very stunningly sexy in the new outfit. :hearts:  I really like how it showcases her curves off, especially her nice ass.

Love how she crushed the racket. As for the match, I started watching at 2-1 in first set. Nicole had troubles on her second serve, which Pennetta returned quite well. Luckily first serve was working nicely. Rather surprised how often she run around forehand, but it was a good tactic since her backhand pretty much sucked.

The choking on matchpoints is a bit worrisome. I hope she's still shaking off the rust from all her time away lately.

Vaidisova has smashing time
By HAROLD GUTMANN
THE JOURNAL NEWS

(Original publication: August 31, 2007)

NEW YORK - Rock beats scissors. Paper beats rock. And chair beats racket, at least when Nicole Vaidisova is involved. After losing five match points in her match against Flavia Pennetta, who forced a tiebreaker, the 18-year-old from Prague smashed her racket against her chair. The chair stayed upright while her frame bent all the way to a 90-degree angle.

"I had (five) match points and I didn't make one of them, so I think that deserved it," said Vaidisova, the No. 13 seed.

Vaidisova said she has broken countless rackets, but not as many as a notoriously emotional former Open champion: "I'm an angel compared to Marat (Safin)."

And while it won't make any junior instructional videos, it was an effective maneuver - Vaidisova won all seven points in the second-set tiebreaker to finish off the Italian 6-2, 7-6 (0).

Vaidisova said she was upset.

"I'm not going to lie," Vaidisova said. "I thought I would be in the locker room at that time, but I got it out of me and was able to focus and play again."

I felt sad when she lost the match, of course.Something is missing for the moment when it comes to play the big points. She had no reasons to lose tonight (except Shahar is such a fighter).Anyway, Nicole is healthy and she plays rather well, I'm waiting for the indoor season as the Us Open is over.

Another heartbreaking loss. :sobbing:
I wouldn’t call it a “heartbreaking loss” because Nicole managed to save a number of match points. Actually I’m proud of the way Nicole had fought back to save those match points. What a fighter!!

You know these kind of matches (like Ivanovic at Wimbledon) are going to be in the back of her mind in almost every close match. :(
In my opinion, the circumstances of Nicole vs Peer and Nicole vs Ivanovic matches were different. Evidently, Nicole seems to play better when she is trailing and needs to fight to stay in a match, for example, during her Australian SF match against Serena (even Serena said after their match that Nicole fought well under the pressure and reminded Serena of herself), and also in her last week match against Peer.

On the other hand, when Nicole was leading, sometimes she needs many match points to close out a match, like her match against Pennetta (and she also needed many set points to win her second set against Peer), and the reason Nicole lost to Ivanovic at Wimbledon seems to be that she didn’t have excessive match points to close out the match.

I have some question. The match Nicole against Pennetta, when Nici beats the racket,so does anyone know, who sat above Aleš Kodat.I think Tomáš B. or Metzler.
