The feeling has been that after the US Open, the wheels are going to fall off for Lindsay. Maybe not quite.

Because of the aftermath of 9/11, Lindsay, Jennifer, Venus, and Serena did not play for 4 weeks after the US Open. Meanwhile, Kim logged a decent number of points and Jelena racked up a LOT of points.

Lindsay isn't exactly in a position of competing with the top 3 ranked players for seedings, so their inactivity last year doesn't mean too much. However, she MAY be able to overtake a couple of others, including Martina who will likely be out a bit later than her.

You can look in my "ranking intervals" thread for this information shortly, perhaps in less than a half hour, once I have put in the new intervals.

But be warned, she has 4 weeks after US Open to make up ground. Then its a horror story.

Unlikely DAVENPORT will go into overdrive after coming back from injury! She will want to take the rest of the season easy not overdo it with the number of tournaments.

Lindsay has all next season to make up points. Right now its just about getting back into form and maybe winning a few tournies.

She'll play some WTT matches in a week :D

Gosh you know..i dont care one bit about the rankings and im sure Lindsay doesnt either ;). So what if she falls out of the top 10, 20 even, who knows. She's got 3 grand slams next year to stack up points.
