LOL I just started watching the mens final after the rain delay in the 2nd set and these 2 look like a pair of pixies compared to the hard hitting match we saw of Venus and Serena yesterday!! I can't believe how hard Venus and Serena hit yesterday...Lletyon and David's balls can't even compare to the final yesterday in these long rallies..until Lletyon decides to hit a winner..lol but C'MON DAVID!!! :) :D

I think we saw more net play yesterday too! I'd like to see David win too, but Lleyton is looking extremely tough. This looks like a clay court match played on grass actually- long baseline rallies!!! The sisters finished points off much more quickly than these two.

Wow this match is so exciting...not. This is a complete slaughter. Is this the "depth" of mens tennis we're seeing? I think I'll pass.

It's true. Heightwise on average, Lleyton (1.80) and David (1.80) were shorter than Venus (1.89) and Serena (1.78). When was the last time the female finalists were taller than the male finalists?

Do you even know what people are talking about when the talk about depth? At least the mens semis were worth watching. The womens semis were total slaughter, how about that "depth"?
It goes both ways.

Insulting one, but not the other - is hypocracy :wavey:

I agree the final was not a good match however.

correct me if i'm wrong, but i believe it was again, at Wimbledon in 2000. Patrick Rafter (185cm) and Pete Sampras (185cm) vs. Venus Williams and Lindsay Davenport.

the match was more like a clay court match...*yawns* but i'm sure it wasn't boring to lleyton and david fans :)

It also wouldn't be boring to anyone who likes clay court tennis ;)

I dont understand how so many people complain that the mens game is all about serve (which is wrong in the first place), but they hate clay court tennis where the serve is most easily broken

Because Becca... on clay matches tend to take very long between men, and they hog the airtime and we don't get to watch the women, so we complain all the same... ;) :p

Well at least you're being honest Williams Rulez, and admitting that at least *some* of the complaining comes from the coverage, and not the actually matches.

I will admit fair and sqaure however that not just this final, but indeed also the FO final, were fairly unexciting.

The FO final was exciting in a sense because there was an upset, and Costa was just on fire. But it wasn't a great match because you didn't have two guys who were playing their best.

I didn't see Oz though, so I cant say :p

I thought this years slam finals have all been boring with the exception of Hingis vs Capriati... and may be the first set of the Wimbledon finals between Venus and Serena

The rest all lacked drama and are pretty one sided and some of them just had so many errors you could cry. This is a great contrast to last years finals between Pat Rafter and Goran or the finals between Jenn and Kim which was exciting to say the least...
