I think that´s very wrong to do. Yes, Henin looked like she was feeling the pressure and didn´t play her best match, but you have to give Bartoli credit. She was simply dominating Henin in the third set and she made her look like she can´t play on grass. This girl has been playing well since the fourth round. I didn´t see her matches before that. She has this pattern where she loses the first set and comes back to win the next two. I didn´t take her seriously before the semifinal but I am now. Venus will have to work for it IMO but I think she will stop Marion´s onslaught in three and maybe two sets.

She played very well against Shahar in the 3rd round. And to think I thought Shahar was terrible.

A Slam final is a completely different ball game and especially since this will be her forst. I think if Venus is anywhere near her usual form she will win relatively easily.

But kudos to Marion. She thoroughly deserves her final place.

I don't like Venus against people she has never faced.

it may be tough but venus's first serve is lethal. she will get a lot of free point no matter how good marion returns.

They're too busy insulting her outside appearance.

You know Bartoli REALLY reminds me on Monica Seles....loook at her ground strokes...VERY SIMILAR..IMO...its going to be a good match...Venus CANNOT underestimate her...like Justine did...Venus tends to have a hard time against players she's never played so..we will see. Good work Bartoli...you took out the "Ferderer of womens tennis" LOL (as her fans would put it) today.

me neither, but she is playing well enough to win it! No doubt. Don't think people are underestimating Bartoli, they are underestimating Venus, like everyone has since the beginning of this tournament!

Shahar was terrible.
I can't believe she is in the final.

Thatīs true but she was also nervous in the first set in her match against Justine and got rid of the nerves in the following sets obviously. I also hope that Venus will be in top form because I have the feeling she will need it.

def. Venus should not underestimate Bartoli. Venus tends to play her worst tennis against teenage up and comers who's game she is unfamiliar with.

One thing is clear after today's match, no one should ever underestimate her again.;)

I predicted with a few others on this board that Mar would beat Juju and we were right yet again! Vee would've been watching this game and I think she knows what she's gonna be up against tommorrow. I for one can't wait!

Mea culpa, mea cupla, mea maxima culpa.

I wear sackcloth and rub ashes and sand in my hair.

I apologize to Marion and her fans for so grossly underestimating her.

(I take secret delight in thinking maybe Lena's not so bad after all).

That's exactly how I feel. I think Venus would have had a better shot against Justine, who she knows she matches well up against. Bartoli (movement aside) matches up VERY well against Venus. She's got a ton of power. She's great at the net. Her serve is hard to read. She's a competitor.

I think Venus plays better against top players. I'm scared for her.

All that being said, I would feel a lot better about Marion winning Wimbledon than Justine. So, on balance I'm happy.

Never underestimate anyone...especially people you've never played.

Bartoli may win it all.

All that being said, I would feel a lot better about Marion winning Wimbledon than Justine. So, on balance I'm happy.

Have to agree.

Come to think of it Bartoli has not faced the kind of serve Venus throws at her opponents yet.
She was pounding on Jankovicīs and Justineīs serve Misaīs serve is very well but she could not compete with her off the ground or so it seemed. If Venus gets enough first serves in she should get the job done. Venusī defense on grass is also better than Justine. I just didnīt expect Justine to lose. I am still in shock.

Thatīs what put me off about some posters. Saying thatīs sheīs overweight and whatnot. How can she be overweight when sheīs moving that well? Looks can be deceiving and in this case I think they are.
