Henin was saved by Bartoli from a major hiding in the final.. Venus .. one match away from getting right back into the best-currently-active-player contest..

:fiery: But I really wanted to see THAT hiding!!!

Fate has kept Henin away from a Venus Style Beatdown for what sees like a decade. :explode:

been more than 4 years, and Justine was not even half as good as she is now!

Ahh well, at least people can't say now that it's just Venus' losses keeping the head to head like it is. Justine clearly didn't want to make it worse  (j/k)

It's mostly Venus having to lose before the arranged stage so it's nice of Justine to do the favors as well. ;)

She'll be back at no.2 in best of her generation as far as i can see, edging ahead of or drawing level with Henin, depending on what way you look at it. :) :worship:

Drawing level only if you would consider 4-times Super Bowl Champion as being level with 4 times Conference Champion..

And even comparing to Serena would start making a lot of sense, if Venus wins.. Serena is now is about like Agassi , in terms of legacy. Venus with 4 Wimbledons, 2 USO and Olympic gold would be sometihng between Becker and McEnroe.. It would be very close..

The last time Venus won Wimbledon Justine lost in the first round so at least she tried this time ;)

I predict a summer hardcourt meeting.

Venus will prevail.

lol well i think if Venus wins she will be behind serena and ahead of henin, as it should be really. Vee will have 14 GS titles to Henins 6. And 6-6 in GS singles titles with 2 more finals. Both will ahve had 4 in the one slam and both an olympic Gold in singles. Venus would have the advantage due to:

More slam finals appearances
Overwhelming head to head at 7-1
More titles

Compared with Jsutines calling point for no.2 position
More tier 1s
Longer time at no.1.

Vee needs the title tommorow.

No.. With Justine? No contest.. She would have 4 freaking Wimbledons over 8 years.. Who else has it? Martina and Steffi. Federer also. For one more day.. Sampras... That's what Venus's company is.. Not Henin..

My bottom line is Wimbledon is the most important title, all ties go to Wimbledon.

And as mentioned above...

even then it isn't a real tie because Venus has other slam titles in Doubles and Mixed. Heaven knows they used to count when we used to debate Hingis v the Williams Sisters back in the day. ;)

Of course Venus still has to win, tomorrow.
