And Ana's schedule is the same as last year.. the only difference is San Diego. :o She is so not in position to have such a schedule.. if she plays 40 matches we are lucky. :o

It's interesting, bit too girly imo. I like the Tour Tracker.

This bit from Did You Know? is my fave:

As a child, Ana trained in an empty swimming pool in Belgrade. The April 11 sports center housed an Olympic-sized pool but could not afford to keep it heated during the winter, so installed carpet courts

By the way, Ana's web has some bad omen going on for today's match.. :sobbing:

Ana leads the head-to-head series with Kuznetsova 5-2 but four of those wins have come in straight sets.

Ana's h2h with Kuzzy is actually 5-1. Do they have paranormal prediction powers? :sobbing:

Besides that, only 2 matches were in 2 sets.. the one win for Kuzzy and the IW final in 2008.

What hurts me more is to see Ana saying her form is on the rise, and that she is playing better than last year. I mean, I've always known she is delusional, but this level of fantasy is actually preventing her from making any improvement.

I knew the off season had been awful.. and I knew Ana was playing worse than.. well.. ever.. but this was boderline humilliating. And she has obsolutely no control over her emotions. One bad line call or even one line call she doesn't agree with is enough for her to go bonkers and zone out of the match. Her focus is so fragile... Really.. no even top 50 material. 15 year old Ana played better tennis and had better composure.. I'll keep supporting her, I'm trapped.. but I'm thinking we will just have to expect her to lose everytime she faces decent players, to lose in the first couple of rounds of decent tournaments, and get used to the idea this is just it.. no turning back. IT has been almost 2 years, and the curve is going down. She played better one year ago then now.. nothing is improving. Nothing. The opposite.. things are getting worse by the day.

Izzy:hug: But I have to agree, it seems like Ana doesn't have the maturity to be a Champion, to find what's wrong and work on it, and solve it and improve, she's also so fragile...
Good thing is that she was able to win a slam and be n.1 before it started going downhill.

You know when I saw the card she sent to the media with Oops written on it, i thought i didn't really like it. She should feel sorry for herself, not for others, after all she has responsability for million of dollars of sponsor money... It really looks like she doesn't realize how bad it is.

Hey Luca!

Yes.. she should just wake up and see she is, day after day, humiliating herself, her fans, her sponsors.. throwing away a brilliant career... And really, she has been so unprofessional.. it's almost Vaidisova-like. Maybe in no time it will be core Vaidisova. She should realize she has never played worse tennis in her entire career.. and that she has not made any improvement whatsoever. That's why I wish people around her weren't so postive.. because the situation is not meant to be positive. The realistic approach is negative, and she should see that, take responsability and go out there to prove she is deep down a talented player. This positive crap is bullshit and is preventing her from making any improvement whatsoever. It's only getting worse.

I feel sad to think we will never see Ana playing well ever again.

the really frustrating thing is that ana's fans care more about her tennis career than probably she herself does :oSaid very well and concisely....

Some people think that I'm too hard on Adam Scott, but I believe that he's simply one more example of Ana's entourage that doesn't have her best interests in mind.I'd say that he cares about keeping her in a good mood and,TO AN EXTENT,he'd like to see her do well...but NOT if it means that she regains her old fire for tennis and spends less time WAGging. He's just one more person who feeds Ana the crap that she wants to hear in her delusional state...never mind that it may hurt her growth in the long run:sad:.In a way,though,Ana--and we--are lucky b/c she's SOOOO naive that she could've hooked up with someone much WORSE than Adam...like coke-head Stepanek...and she probably WILL in the future(sigh...)

To summarize:
1.Adam KNEW that Ana was emotionally immature--and therefore easy to control with the right tactics--either before he ever met her or very soon afterwards.Having a sweet-natured,beautiful young girl to follow him blindly,as a companion, must've been very tempting for him at the beginning.
2.Ana's parents should hide their faces in shame for their cowardice in NOT pushing their sweet daughter to get the counselling she needs. It's time to quit being Ana's FRIEND so much and to start acting like PARENTS:(.
3.Sven,you make me wanna puke...and this goes for anyone else who CLAIMS to be Ana's buddy, yet watches in gutless silence as she implodes. If everyone got together and said,"Listen,Ana,everyone can see the problem EXCEPT for you," then even ANA couldn't hide in denial.

Rant over...I apologize for my bluntness,Anapolis:o

Our friend Jelena, who is in the arena, just twitted this:

If JJ does win this, as it seems she will.. she is leading 5-0 in the third... Ana will play a deciding match no matter what. She might have to win to keep Serbia alive, or to win to clinch the tie.

If she says she was dead nervous in the first match, imagine in such situation. She is doomed. Maybe Vranes should get Jovanovski to play. :sobbing:

Imagine she loses.. again... ugh.. that can hurt her to no end.

I beginning to feel the same way. I was optimistic going into AO, then she crashes out in the 2nd round. I was optimistic about Fed Cup and so far it has turned out to be a disaster. Every time I believe she has an opportuniy to make some progress and take a step forwards, she regresses and takes a step back. Nothing really has changed and her mental game continues to get worse (if that's possible). Her future is looking pretty bleak. I hope he gets Pavlyuchenkova to play. Maybe Ana can have some confidence knowing she beat her last month. But I don't think Ana could beat Kleybanova, who hits every single shot flat and hard. When Ana beat Kleybs in Dubai last year, she was actually playing some decent tennis.. I remember she had 40 winners and 13 aces. Nowadays, unfortunately, her level of tennis is just too low.

I do hope she somehow wins.. because losing again would hurt her to no end IMHO.

You are too optimistic Curtis. Ana is playing no better than Lourdes Domingues Lino or Yvonne Meusburger (sorry to the fans of these players...)... meaning no better than a low top 100 player. I don't think she has ever played this bad in her entire career... and unfortunately she constantly reminds me of Vaidisova's fall from grace. Ironically, there has been less time that Vaidisova made a slam QF than Ana did. :tape:

People say Ana is young.. well.. does anyone really expects Vaidisova to ever get back into the top 10? And she is younger than Ana. This is not about age, it's about how much you let your game get out of your own control. And it has been just too much.

It will only make it worse Bruce.. believe me. Ana is one of these people who work on positive reassurance. She needs a good win, a good result, to get better. The bad ones no only don't wake her up, but sinks her further into a downward spirall.

French Open champion Kuznetsova rallied from 4-2 down in the second set before sealing the win with a smash on match point.

"Even while trailing in the second set, I never thought I could lose this match," Kuznetsova said. "I didn't think it would be so easy in the first set."

The former top-ranked Ivanovic struggled with her serve and accuracy throughout the match. She finished with 50 unforced errors and six double faults.

"I had my chances in the second set, but psychology played a big part in the final outcome," Ivanovic said.

If I've read your posts correctly, you seem to have implied that Ana no longer has that fire within her.I really hope you're wrong...and I think that a sense of emptiness w/o tennis COULD spark within her even if she took a long break.

If I'm wrong--and if she DOES totally lack the spark as you've suggested--then it only strengthens my theory that she QUIT vs. Venus...that the PHYSICAL aspect of the injury wasn't that serious, even something she could've played through with discomfort

Mmm... I didn't think so... she completely lost her mind over a stupid line call.. and from then on I knew there was no match anymore. Besides.. if Ana had to serve for the set, I would not bet on her holding... she was flat and nervous.

Right now Ana has no middle game.. it's either a brilliant winner or an ugly UE. And we all know nobody wins a tennis match only on brilliance. You have to move well and hang in on rallies.. and she could not do that. Besides that, she has no control whatsoever over her emotions.. they actually control her. So when something doesn't go the way she had hoped, she can't focus on the next point.. the emotions take her over.

Notes to Ana :there is a reason why this competition is called FC.You have crowd on your favor don`t be stupid and use it
JJ was losing 4-1 in the second set Kleybanova really played better than JJ until then
JJ goes to 4-2 ,she hit 2 good points crowd starts to go crazy  and you have a turn around in the match
I also think everybody was so sick of watching first Ana and then JJ losing  so we started to cheer like crazy.I don`t think i ever cheer so much for JJ as i did in this match :lol:My hands hurt from all the clapping
Even if someone can say JJ just played better ,it was Kleybanova who started to fell apart and she started to miss things she wasn`t before

And you described perfectly Ana's attitude after the call.. it seems she goes all "I have no luck.. nothing works my way.. I can't fight the world.. poor me...". That will always lead her to losses. She should use it to fire her up. Instead she goes on a walkabout.

One of the reason JJ managed to turn around that match was her return. Her return was great today,Kleybanova had very little number of aces i think
Ana`s return is just awful ,anyone who saw todays match know what i`m talking about

In the end all i can say is that we should pray that JJ wins her match tomorrow and that they win doubles ,or that Anastasia plays instead of Kleybanova bc that FC trophy is the only title Ana is going to get near this season :sobbing::sobbing:

That was one of the reasons i cheered for JJ so hard

One of the reason JJ managed to turn around that match was her return. Her return was great today,Kleybanova had very little number of aces i think
Ana`s return is just awful ,anyone who saw todays match know what i`m talking about

In the end all i can say is that we should pray that JJ wins her match tomorrow and that they win doubles ,or that Anastasia plays instead of Kleybanova bc that FC trophy is the only title Ana is going to get near this season :sobbing::sobbing:

That was one of the reasons i cheered for JJ so hard
With Ana`s attitude and her game she is only going to slip in the rankings i`m afraid :sobbing::sobbing:

Yes.. that's what I was talking to you about after AO. Ana is not calmer.. she is just plain flat. She has the "the world is against me and I can't do anything about it" attitude. And then she gets into arguments over anything.. never gets pumped up.. There is no desire, no commitment.. she is terrified to play.. a bunch of nerves..

After IW she will be out of the top 50, which, unfortunately, is only fair. She is not playing like a top 50 player anyway... :sobbing:

I think Ana`s dad lost weight bc he wasn`t fat at all ,or maybe he just looks like that on pictures
I didn`t see Milos but Dan Holzman and Gavin were also there

Ana`s parents also arrived in the beginning of JJ`s second set ,Gavin and Holzman didn`t

By the way.. after JJ's match there was an interview with Dejan Vranes. They asked him about Ana's match, and he said she played bad (duh.. obvious), especially in the first set, when she had bad footwork. Then in the second set she played a bit better, but just couldn't take any of her chances. They asked him how he was going to cheer her up, because she seemed down and sad. He shrugged.. and said he would try to cheer her up and get her to play well. But really.. he looked like he had no idea what he had to do or if it would be of any use.. like Ana is in a shell... he seemed disappointed and the shrug was very indicative of it IMHO.

It seems she had a very very good practice today, from what they were saying.. but obviously played an awful match when it mattered. The coaches must be clueless about what to do..

There is an article on Ana's presser in the articles thread. She said if she could play at least to 60% of what she has been practicing, she should win tomorrow. She sounded a bit pissed.. I hope she realizes she has to prove that on the court. :o

During JJ's match Ana looked very very down.. she barely cheered JJ on.. even when she turned the match around.. the TV would often show her, and she was just sad. Which, honestly, she should be..

Here is link: http://www.rts.rs/page/tv/sr/story/20/RTS+1/477971/Vi+i+Mira+Adanja-Polak.html

But it's all tv show. Interview with Ana is somewhere at the end. She said usually things about pressure, media... even Gavin said few words...

And Ana was very openly about Adam, (she said: "for parents no one good enough, but my family has good opinion about him"...

Ana's been demoted in my sig. Lena's the only 'headliner' now. :sobbing:It takes me back to when I first started casually checking Ana out...mostly for her appearance;),back in 2006.I read some of her blog entries and thought some of the same things that some of her haters do:This girl is a dizzy phony with a Smiley Routine for the cameras.

After a few months more, which included reading some testimonies from reliable sources,I learned that,WOW!!,she really IS a kind,sweet-natured person.I'm not gonna go on a rant about how the UN leadership is comprised of pond scum;the point is,Ana genuinely feels that she can make a difference with these Serbian schoolkids, and the article which Izzy posted reminded me of WHY I became an Ana fan.

I'm holding out hope that Novak...or ANYbody, anyone whom Ana trusts...will pull up on her and say,"You need some help;you need to get your s--t together somehow." I simply don't know if,other than Novak, such a person even exists in Ana's life:sad:....I'm to the point where I might start writing to Novak, saying PLEASE!!GO TO ANA!!Your gf can wait in the adjoining room.Just don't let this keep happening to your lifelong friend:help:

What a day

Now about Ana`s match:rolleyes:
This was me during whole match http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm23/jelenacg/16k3pzb-1.gif
First set :  I`m not sure she was there ,was she there ?
Netted FH,netted BH ,too long FH,too long BH
Sveta was solid but come on
Second set Ana started playing better. 2-1 for Ana and she has 2 BPs ,ofc she didn`t use them
3-2 for Ana,people started to cheer hard for her ,crowd finally got into the match Sveta feels pressure and Ana breaks
4-2 for Ana and Ana serving .There was one ball that was imo also out i think this was happening at 15-0 or 0-0 .She goes and argues with the judge .I don`t know if you saw it but she argues with the judge for a whole minute then she return on the court to show where the ball landed and then again she goes to argue with empire :help::help::help:
I was one of the people who yelled `come on play ,it doesn`t matter`
Oh but it did matter
Just by looking at her i knew she was going to get broken right there and lose that match in 2 sets .She had that attitude everything is against me, i can`t win this so i don`t really care about this match ,and when i don`t care it can`t hurt me :sad:
She went to lose that set from 4-2 up to 4-6

Hope you had a good time at least. Just watched it myself, she just keeps getting worse. Every part of her game gets a fail. Some of the netapproaches are so awful, it was funny:lol:
I agree 100% about the arguing, it kills all momentum she has. I dont care if i thought it was out or not, its how she reacts to it..as if this one call on one point has anything to do with her result:rolleyes:

Letter to Nole eh? How would we go about that? :pFrankly,Aaron,it just now popped into my head, but it'd be the same general idea as that other thread,"An Open Letter To Ana".

Basically,Jelena could write it in Serbian...or I could do it in English(don't know how many languages Nole speaks:lol:).We'd all co-sign,basically:Novak,you can see that Ana is flushing her career down the toilet, and that she's in denial and is NOT doing what she needs to restore herself. Her current strategy isn't any coherent strategy AT ALL,and we haven't seen ANYone in her camp,OR her personal life, who has honestly addressed the issues that are troubling Ana.Could you REALLY be happy with yourself,10 years from now,if she threw her God-given talent away...while you didn't do anything to stop this tragedy??We don't believe that you'd be happy if THAT happened to your dear friend.PLEASE,find some time to talk and be honest with her,to do what you can to get her back on track(even if that honesty pisses her off for a bit). You're the ONLY one we see who MIGHT be able to break through these walls of denial that Ana has imprisoned herself in.PLEASE consider this,Novak. Well.. there were people around telling me I was wrong and Ana had shown some improvement.. I don't see any.. I think during this slump, second half of 2008 Ana played better than first half of 2009, who played better than second half of 2009, who played better than now. :help: And junior Ana probably played better as well.. :sobbing:

I so wish she would just own up to her choices.. but I'm beginning to think she is making these choices because she believes it will somehow help. No Ana, it won't.

She has the wrong perspective into how the outside world affects her relationship with tennis. I just can't stand to see our sweet Ana go through this sad mental fog anymore, and NO amount of vacation time with Adam is ever gonna fulfill her,deep-down.It'll take her a while to turn it all around, but AT LEAST she can get started back on track. We don't wanna see her get totally jaded against tennis like Isabela, and others,fear.....LET'S DO THIS!!!!Would it really hurt to try??Who's on board the Save Our Ana Express??:drive:

I don`t want her to stop being friends with Novak :sobbing:
And this could happen,Ana doesn`t like when people don`t agree with her you know
Besides as Izzy said many many times she has a wrong tactics .Ana thinks running away from tennis will help her ...and until she doesn`t understand it`s wrong no one will help her

But isn't this about winning this tie, so they have chance to advance in the competition? Either way.. both have as much chance of winning against Kleybanova.. 0! :sobbing:

:spit:

It was just that I had not seen her go to the net that often since Kardon times. But yeah.. everything sucked in her game today.

I wonder if she even asks herself why she practices well and then sucks at matches.. because she really should.

Ofc it is .It`s about Ana and JJ winning it.... not Serbia, not Jovanovic, not Jovanovski....
There aren`t any questions or doubts in Ana`s world you should know that by now Izzy. Ana`s world is a happy place where Ana plays well, serves well, tosses the ball well and has many many good practices

Seriously, unless you know another Serb on this forum who might agree to it,I'm gonna write to Nole.I'll show it to some other fans of Ana and Nole before I send it so that we can avoid potential setbacks like the one you noticed. My plan is to write the letter...and then those in accord can attach a brief comment at the bottom,in their native tongue,so that Nole sees that it's not some scam engineered by one person. He can make his OWN decision as to whether or not it would jeopardize his friendship with Ana.I have to TRY this;I can't watch this tragedy anymore without speaking up:sad:

But it's all tv show. Interview with Ana is somewhere at the end. She said usually things about pressure, media... even Gavin said few words...

And Ana was very openly about Adam, (she said: "for parents no one good enough, but my family has good opinion about him"...

I was going to go to sleep, but decided to watch this first. If Ana saw this interview before her match I can totally understand her shitty performance.. I mean.. there were pics of Adam with Kate Hudson at the beach in the middle of her pics with Adam.. :spit: She might have seen those for the first time.. disturbing.. :spit::help::tape:

I think if we just keep it simple and polite as possible it should be fine. I don't think Nole would be easily offended by anything we wrote, but truth be told I don't know much of his personality either, except he's known for being very funny and intelligent. I'm sure that Nole cringes when he reads Ana's ridiculous justifications,so we could write something like:Ana is either trying to maintain damage control with her press statements...or her approach to solving her problems is very misguided. You're a tennis player yourself,so you can see that Ana's proposed solutions are illogical. She appears to be deeply in denial, perhaps b/c she is afraid to face the difficult reality of her situation.......

But she KNOWS that she can trust YOU because you've been her lifelong friend. You've been loyal to her in good times and bad ones.Judging by their comments,it looks like the Adidad Team and so many other people are too scared to offend Ana so they placate her by telling her whatever she wants to hear, but YOU are the one person who has credibility as a tennis pro PLUS an intimate bond with Ana.We believe you are the one who can help her deal with things as they really are.She can find her way back but first she must ADMIT what her problems are instead of running from them by hiding in denial.Ana might be afraid right now yet your friendship and support might be all she requires to finally confront her fears. We can ALL see that the status quo will NEVER work, and we're sure that you only desire what's best for Ana

1971 in Perth they won by WO ( or that doesn't count in h2h)

I hope Ana will find her motivation today. She was very down during Jelena's match. :awww:

You'd think Jelena's success would motivate her. Let's hope Ana will give her all and win an important point for Serbia. She will be under pressure no matter if Jelena wins or loses against Sveta. She needs to win so she can gain some confidence for her future matches. She always says she's playing great in practice, but sadly none of us can see it in her matches. And to tell you the truth she doesn't look fit to me, but maybe it's just poor footwork. Jelena's footwork was appalling as well until she started making comeback yesterday. Up to that point she was never "on the ball".

Hey Alex!

I think Ana is indeed unfit.. She said herself that after letting go of Scott in july, she didn't do fitness.. Yes, beyond stupid. Then she only got a new fitness coach in the last week of December.. so... She is definitely not fit. :help:

I dunno, it doesn't have to mean she's unfit. Maybe she's just not "match fit" as she really hasn't played that many matches for a long period of time. That's why I said it could be footwork which imo is in co-relation with concentration during a match or match fitness, if you will.

Confidence can be gained or lost on just a few points or even one. Imagine if some of those calls had been in Ana's favour. Who knows if she would've then continued like that for the rest of the match, helped by the Serbian crowd which was in greater numbers during her match yesterday.

If I was her coach I would tell her to block all the thoughts about her ball toss, dfs and such things. Catch the ball if you have to, but don't sweat over it. Make a double fault or 10, it's not gonna decide the match. Just fight for every ball, and let the crowd do their thing.

Maybe you are right.. but I just think her level of play is overall too poor.. And she can't hold on to anything. Not to talk about her concentration.. it goes away with anything. She can't afford allowing one line call to get her completely out of the match.

So Ana has an opportunity to clinch it for Serbia. This will either have a dream ending or a nightmare ending. Please win this Ana.

saw the last games... i didn't see Ana playing in a long time, but that was by far the worst i've ever seen her. :tape: She looks clueless on court, not even top 100 material... I don't know what to say:o

I'll never pick on JJ again. Ever. She came through this weekend but it will all be for nothing because of Ana.

If I ever again try to watch your match Ana while you are slumping i'll spit om myself. She has become a punching bag for a descent player about 1 hour ago from mobile web

Spot on.. Ana is now a punching bag...

And she has never ever played worse in her whole entire career.. I think 14 year old junior Ana played better to be honest.

Ok.. so will this be a reality check at least for the people around her? Because I don't think Ana had ever suffered this level of humiliation on a tennis court before.

Because I don't think Ana had ever suffered this level of humiliation on a tennis court before. And THAT'S why the letter to Nole is gonna get done;I can't stand to see this happen to Ana.Maybe it WON'T work, but it's worth the try for Ana's sake....And I don't give a damn about getting any credit if it DOES work;I'll give it all to Nole and Ana....I just want her to come back:sad:
