I've had bad experiences with Serena and Vaidisova. :bigcry:
Kim is very warm and friendly to fans, I agree, so is Mauresmo.
Justine was very nice as well, and Lucie Safarova,
Shahar Peer is lovely, although she was a bit upset because she lost but she still signed stuff.
Anna Chakvetadze lost too, but she was still ok.

I've never met any players unfortunately. I've only ever been to one tennis tournament where I saw one match. Federer vs Gonzalez.

I feel sorry for players at tournaments because they are constantly accosted by fans seeking pictures and autographs. It's embarrassing and uncomfortable for me to watch, so I intentionally cut players a wide path and leave them alone. They are forced to walk quickly and avoid eye contact with anybody when trying to get anywhere or they'd never get where they're going.
That said, Emilie Loit looked me right in the eye and gave me a warm smile after one of her matches. I smiled back and became an instant fan.

What was bad about your experiences with Serena and Vaidisova?

I have to say, I'd feel like an idiot asking for an authograph or a picture. If I can chat with a player for a minute or two, ask a question - that's great, but I won't hassle a player just to sign something for me.

I've been lucky enough to speak several times with Mary, and she is just so nice! After a few minutes, you're no longer talking about her, her career, how you like her.... she makes you talk about yourself, and is really interested in what you have to say. She is the nicest player I have ever met, and I don't say that because she is my fav, that's because this is actually the truth!

I've met the Italians too, and all of them are so nice! The funniest is Tax Garbin, the most charming is Flavia, Franci is nice but she does not like that much crowd, and Mara has to know you a bit better to feel more comfortable, but in the end, she is warm!

The French: I had bad experiences with Loit and Dechy, and witnessed not so nice moments with Mauresmo. But Tati and Cornet are nice girls. And I simply adore Aravane's simplicity!

The other girls I adored talking to: Cara and Liezel (so so nice!). They are adorable, asked my name, and each time I go and see them, they remember and we talk about nothing... really nice girls!

Other nice girls: Alicia Molik, Kaia Kanepi, Julia Vakulenko, Kveta Peschke...

Sharapova :)

It was on Tuesday at Wimbledon when she and Venus played on Court 3. I was walking towards Centre Court in order to watch them but then I saw a tall, blond, slim figure on Court 3, hitting some balls during a warm-up. In the back of my head, I thought it was Maria. However, I just thought it was another Sharapova look-a-like. BUT, it wasn't ;) I noticed the white 'Swan' dress, then the dark Prince racquet, with the blue grip... and then I thought... "For Christ's sake, it's Maria Sharapova!" There was a flock of people just standing around to see her and Venus play. But then the rain started to fall. Then, Sharapova just zoomed past me into the Centre Court building. She was a mere few inches away from me and it was such a blur because it happened so fast. There were bodyguards around her saying, "Player coming through, excuse me!"

You would have thought Jesus walked in town... Maria Sharapova definitely had an aura and buzz around her..

Well she was certainly very nice to me.

Which one now?

Arantxa was *fantastic* to her fans. She even got us tickets. So I'm biased. :p

Amanda Coetzer was LOVELY.

Pam Shriver is a great laugh :p

Mary Pierce is a gem.

Sveta is great.

Also nice: Sandrine Testud, JenCap, Magui Serna, Vivi Ruano-Pascual, Jankovich (she gave us a load of her tennis balls at Wimby a couple of years ago!), Momo, Kim Clijsters, Alicia Molik, Rennae Stubbs....dani although...

Players I've had bad experiences with: Babsi (must have caught her on a bad day), AnnaK, Dani (she was really couldn't be arsed this one year lol), Conchita (but I forgive her;))

Same here. It is nice to chat with a player for a minute or two, and if they don't look busy, sometimes I do and most are very friendly. But I would never ask for an autograph - asking for autographs just seem so uncooth to me. Infact at Roehampton a friend of mine asked my favorite player Yaroslava Shvedova for her autograph, on my behalf because she thought I would appreciated it, after she lost her qualifying doubles match and I was furious. First because I believe it is highly insensitive to ask a player for an autograph after they just lost a match and I didn't appreciate my friend treating Yari in this way, and 2nd because I felt very embarressed by association. Additionally if I had wanted to asked Yari for her autograph which I didn't I would have prefered very much to do it myself. I did not want to have anything to do with this aquirred autograph and I do not know what my friend has done with it.

I should add that Yari didn't have any problem signing the autograph and was perfectly curtious. But that just shows Yari is a class person. I still maintain it was wrong to ask her at that time.

I've met more male than female players it must be said but of the ones I've met, Jelena Jankovic, Justine and Elena D were all really nice, very friendly and willing to chat/sign autographs etc. I'd never ask for an autograph/picture after a player has lost a match, there's a time and a place for such things, i/e after a win. :p but I don't see anything wrong with the principle as a whole, most players seem to like meeting their fans and get a buzz out of the whole signing and chatting thing. This is when 'real' fans do it that is. I went to Wimbledon last week and saw millions of little kids clustered around the players tunnel brandishing giant balls, had no idea who anybody was and were attempting to get everyone's signature saying 'please please' to anyone who happened to walk through, security guard or player! That cheapens the whole thing IMO.

I only hate it when people ask from autographs when they obviously don't know the player. I was really sure that I looked super happy when they signed for me :):) I appreciated it.

Ai was super nice :worship: She signed this picture (that I got laminated after :hearts:) but I was so nervous I could only mutter "Good luck" and she thanked me. But really nice :):)

Chinese players were nice to me too. Except Yan who didn't see me when I wanted her autograph

Most players are nice though  Petrova and Navratilova were sweet. Myskina too. Hingis was really cute. Vivi Pascual was so funny
