Hmm

The guy who was Serena's hitting partner at Wimbledon was more powerful then Serena.

Same goes for Jelena and for Jennifer. They couldn't beat their male hitting partners and these guys don't even have a ranking. They're hired by the WTA simply to provide hitting partners at the large events.

The guys simply hit harder but more importantly they hit with more spin.

It's no secret amongst the pros and especially the people who work with the players that the top female players wouldn't even get a ranking on the ATP.

Sorry, I know this is always been an argument amongst fans and people who work on the fringes of the game (media etc.) but it's not an argument with the players and their coaches.

LMAO! Hewitt would wipe the court with her 6-1, 6-2. I don't think he would double bagel her though.

Why doesn't anybody ever ask how Laila Ali would do against Lennox Lewis? I think the results with Hewitt and S williams would be about as close.

 Lol Cappy mania

I'd say Hewitt cos that boy is FAST, and more patient and consistant than Serena. She could match him for power but thats all.

I'd say 6/1 6/3 to Hewitt.

What? What? She's smiling! She's definitely happy. What?

Seriously, few other members have been reported thanks to me and next to their posts my post is like a message posted by angel.

Btw, it's CappyMania and not a CappyManiac. Should I report you too?

Too funny Cappy.

And Jay...thanks for hopefully straightening this issue out once and for all. If you know any WTA player and ask them this they will tell you...male hitting partners beat them regularly in practice sets and that's after being on the court all day! But the girls are good natured and always seem to have a smile on their faces!:wavey:

Hewitt would win.

I'm not so sure about a match with men outside the Top 100. If Venus or Serena played them without nerves, I think they'd have a good chance. They already serve better than a lot of the guys, and the evidence from mixed doubles, is that there isn't that huge gulf in standards any more that some people think there is.

Playing a non=top 100 pro in a non-stressed situation, I think Serena would have a good chance of winning.

Are you kidding? Lleyton would not play Serena for fear of getting an African American linesperson. If they were to play, the tournament had better give flower insurance policies to all nearby gardeners.

Hey...you should ask him to send it to you... it was hilarious...like a caricature. Not intended for harm but humor. I have had many done of me... and instead of crying(which is what I probably should do), I try and laugh at myself. That's always easy!:wavey:

For that post and pic alone, I am recommending that Ferraro should be boosted up to senior member status...immediately!

Anyways to answer this thread, Lleyton would win... it wouldn't even be close! Although Serena seems super powerful on the women's side, she wouldn't seem so powerful against Lleyton... I checked on the Wimby site and Lleyton's serve are 5 mph to 10 mph faster than Serena's and plus Lleyton is more consistent, a better returner (IMO)... anyways I think he'd blow Serena off the court!

They briefly played against each other, along with Hingis and Gambill, in the saturday before last year's us open. I say that Hewitt wins 6-0 6-0.

Xan...please...no disrespect intended, but please re-read jay's post. He is affiliated with the tour, is around it, and understands this matter completely. I happen to know first-hand, that he is 100% correct. The truth is a good thing.:wavey:

I've spent enough time in the gym to know that you can take a wiry guy who doesn't look strong in the least, and an ultra-pumped woman with huge muscle mass and definition, and you will generally find out that the guy is considerably stronger. So I don't think Serena is stronger than Lleyton either.

Hewitt completely dominated Sampras at the US Open.

Sampras serves way harder than Serena and Hewitt had no problems controlling that serve.

If you want to match up Serena with an ATP player, don't choose the # 1

Hewitt - on a really good day Serena might get a couple of games. But frankly, and I say this as a Hewiit fan (and a woman), the question is unfair to Serena. Men and women are different. It's like asking who is the most voluptuous out of her and Hewitt!!

Its pointless to compare men and women. Its like taking the fastest horse and the fastest koala and racing them against each other.
Does anyone remember when Serena and Lleyton played mixed doubles together? They did that briefly, but then she stopped and found a better partner in Max Mirnyi.

as said before when serena would play hewitt her serve would not be a weapon anymore because Hewitt would kill it since he is used to much faster ones, same for her return!
and when weapons are no weapons anymore, forget it
I wish Serena could teach him a lesson but I am just realistic;)

At the tournament in Antwerp, Venus had a hittingpartner from Belgium. That guy is ranked around 500 and he said in an interview he would beat Venus 6-0 6-0 without problems.

Venus hits hards, but even a very explosive shot of Venus is considered as a normal shot by the men.

Hewitt would absolutely slaughter kim on the court. She wouldn't stand a chance. Double bagel bigtime. Martina wouldn't even return a serve probably. Jennifer would be left blinking as Hewitt's rocket returns rocked her on her heels and poor lindsay would need a motor scooter to reach his groundstrokes in time.
