Chanda and Anna just won the first set!

they are playing superb tennis. broke back to take the set to a tie-break which they won mainly as a resut of some sweet playing by Anna. great touches at net. i'm impressed!

the Sisters are fighting back in the second set but Venus seems completely out of it. Serena is fighting like mad but they are barely communicating. none of the giggling and laughter that typify their doubles games. Venus' loss is affecting things.

We'll be going 3 sets. Don't worry. ;)

She is, she really is the best player at net in this entire match, best in the world not to include hingis.

I agree that Anna is a VERY good player. And she seems to work very well with Chanda. Her serve is not bad except against Willi*2.
Chanda is of course a very fine doubles player. She and Els Callens beat Venus and Serena at the Open last year.

Maybe Anna should become a doubles specialist. After all, Women's doubles is far more viable than men's doubles because the singles stars can play.

Maybe the men SHOULD start playing best of threes.:D

anna would never choose to be a doubles specialist. atleast not until she accomplishes what she wants to in singles.

the men playing 5 sets isn't the problem why men's doubles isn't so popular but because there aren't that many slots in the tournaments that can be given to top-ranked singles players who choose to team up when they don't regularly play.

anna's volleying was pretty good in the match especialy her reflex volleys, but her serve, she has to work on that. too vulnerable and it afefects the rest of their play.
