It's understandable I know....she hasn't got her rhythm and her confidence is lacking....It's not like this time last year, when she was playing really well....but god, somebody tell me how to control the frustration I've got.....Hingis is so much better than the way she is playing.....FIGHT GIRL! LOL

choking?? Hingis with set points in the 1st set, a 4-2 lead in the 2nd....blown both....

On the match point for Cavaday, Hingis hit a winner.

i know she's still finding her game, i mean she didn't hit a ball at all for 4 weeks!!!

it's really good to see her hitting through the ball a bit better though, and following some of her shots into the net.....she's done well at the net, and she's going there more now...that's what she needs to do in her games.

hope she can keep picking it up, being a bit more aggressive, finish this match, and work on it for the 2nd round!

Cavaday didn't choke. Hingis just raised her game.

I'm so glad Hingis fought her way through the 2nd set. Now she's cruising

it was a good comeback from martina, but I agree with the TITLE of this thread complete, Martina is like an ultimate pusher now, she forgets how to hit through her shots sometimes and allows nobodies to just hit her off the court.

Cavaday had two match points she did indeed choke she got tight on those two match points. When you have two match points she blew it. And to top it off Naomi is fat. If she wants to get serious about being a WTA player she needs to drop the fat.

actually martina does not really need to HIT the ball. she needs to HIT the ball, take it early AND use her magnificent touch. Just "hit the ball" is not what a coach says. If your coach just says hit the ball then well you are paying for nothing. Hingis stepped it up by coming forward. her serve became more precise and she went down the line with her forehand and backhand more and more. also some very deep looping forhands and some of the best sliced backhand I have ever seen from hingis. great drop shots and smashes too.

When the confidence is there, Hingis knows what to do....but at the moment because she hasn't played for so long it's hard to commit to her shots....there were a few times I noticed her hesitation to follow the ball into the net as well, but when she actually did it, she won the points easily......3rd set was great though.....I can't fault the way she fought....

If she can play like that last set in the next matches, she'll beat most players...her volleys are still all class.

I totally agree she had no hesitation and she just hit the ball out of her mind and there, she won. She should play like that all the time!
