Just wondering if anyone knows what the quality will be like.

Will it be worth the 25 pounds?

Will it show the doubles matches on the court too, or is it just going to operate for singles matches?

Thanks to anyone who can answer these questions! :D

sounds like a great idea, but i want to be sure...would love to see the doubles and have that much choice......can also guarentee seeing all of martina hingis' matches this way too! :D

thanks again!

Go to Wimbledon live and click on the match you want to see.
If you are using firefox windows media player should open up. Once open, wmp will ask for permission to download a license. Click yes. A login box will appear soon after.

If you are using IE, it will ask if you want to save or cancel an asx file. Click save. Click on the asx file and WMP will automatically open.

Yeah, it must be free trial first day because I haven't had to log in like last year. And Wimbledon better get it sorted out about people seeing it for free, that really isn't fair when people have paid $25.

Doesn't support Mac and Linus users. On their website they have the same explanation for non-support for such users that they had last year. What is the problem? Exclusionary contracts with a Window provider? Technical compatibility issues should have been worked out during the one-year interim period. What gives.

This did not help me but it may help some of you. They said that they are currently working on the problem as many customers are having these problems. They also said this worked for a few people. So maybe some of you should try it and good luck.

If you are receiving error code C00D109B please perform the following steps:

1) Right click the top of your WMP go to properties and choose your "player tab" ensure that download codecs automatically is checked.
2) Please open your Internet Explorer go to tools <Internet Option> and choose the "security tab" Please set your security levels to Medium.
3) Please update your direct X from the following link http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.aspx
4) Once you have performed all of these steps please attempt to view the content again. If you are still receiving error code C00D109B upgrade or re-install your Windows Media Player from the following site and attempt to view again.

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/11/default.aspx

Make sure that on Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP that you have at least Windows Media Player 9 Series or later installed. If you have WMP9 or later installed and it doesn't work, reinstall the Codec Installation Package for Windows Media Player. This should reinstall all Windows Media Codec's on your system. It's also a good idea to reinstall DirectX just after you install the Windows Media Codec's. You can do so by following the link in Step 3.

None of this worked. They told me to do other stuff in WMP after you've tried the above.

Please open Windows Media Player (WMP)
In the menu area at the top of the WMP window, click "Tools"
If "Tools" is not visible, Right-click on the upper bar area on WMP and a Menu-list will appear
In the list that appears, choose "Options"
In the window that opens, the "Player" tab will be the first tab displayed
Please ensure that both "Download codecs automatically" and "Connect to the Internet" are selected
Please select the "File Types" tab
Click "Select All", located below and to the right of the list
Click "Apply", located at the bottom of the "Options" window
Please select the "Network" tab
In the "Protocols for MMS URLs" section, un-check "RTSP/UDP" and "RTSP/TCP"
Now, re-check "RTSP/UDP" and "RTSP/TCP"
All three protocols should now be selected
Click "OK" at the bottom of the "Options" Window

But none of this works. I've also been told that they fixed it and that is the only solution they have. Yeah, right.

If they don't do anything about it tomorrow, I guess I'll get a refund. The only thing that did work for me was actually roll back to WMP 10 and try to play a livestream from there and as someone suggested in this thread... You initially get a codec error and 3 other links in the "Now Playing" pane as well. And one of the links actually does work! But that only worked with one livestream link... not any of the stream links of recorded matches.

Okay, for those who have the codec problem... I appear to have resolved that as far as the streams go...

Copy the url of the match you want to see into your Windows Media Player... Then remove everything in the address up to the second http://

So this

If you stream it, then there is no issue with that... I noticed the recording of the Molik match only seemed to have started after a rain delay though. Not that it's a big deal, since it's only 1 game, but I hope they won't miss anything because of rain delays.

Sorry for deleting my post up there. It got all confusing and I didn't really know what I was talking about.

I did stream the match and it started downloading, like cached it so now it doesn't have to download at all while I'm streaming it. I don't know whether it downloaded from where I started from which was past the rain delays to the end or whether it was the whole match, I just know it's not downloading anything while I'm "streaming". But it doesn't seem like it used up that much bandwidth so I guess that's okay.

Does anyone get audio but not video (just a blank green screen)? It worked okay yesterday (green screen a few times but generally okay) and I can download yesterday's matches but the live feed today is just a blank green screen - I can hear the audio though. Any thoughts/solutions? Thanks.

Does anyone know how to get it to play in Windows Media? The pop up one is the one that comes up and it keeps on crashing my computer.

There's no way to get free access to court 13 , right?
It seems you only can pay by creditcard for this, which I don't have.

Somebody with a creditcard who wants to help me? :help:
Ana is next on court 13 and I really want to see it!

Hi All,

As the Sports Marketing Manager at MediaZone, I would like to directly address the issues voiced in this forum regarding the Wimbledon LIVE streaming service.

First and foremost, I would like to apologize for the frustrations many of you encountered on the first day of the tournament. Our business is delivering hard-to-find content to fans globally and thus, centered around our users' experience. When subscribers have difficulties with our service, we are 100% dedicated to resolving all issues from technology to customer service. That said, let me offer up some information toward this end.

On Monday morning, we had an extremely obscure technical problem that was very difficult to find. We were aware of the problem immediately as we monitor the service, however; finding the error took the time-consuming and tedious task of testing each individual stream on multiple systems. The LIVE streaming service has been functioning properly since the bug was found and the On Demand feature was unaffected by the issue entirely.

Please know, the online broadcast of full-length live events is an extremely progressive service and pushing the technology envelope sometimes is a trial-and-error process. We are proud to be delivering such high-quality tennis to tennis fans globally and will continue to do our best to do so. MediaZone is dedicated to you, the fans, that have come to enjoy the flexibility of watching LIVE video online.

I will check back into this thread daily to read all feedback and
address any other concerns that arise.

Thank you for your support and please, enjoy the rest of the tournament!

What are the chances of extending this to other Grand Slams?

Yes yes and yes and did I say yes. It is the best 24.99 you will ever spend. Very good quality. Up to 10 courts that you can choose from and guess what - doubles, doubles and more doubles. Plus you can listen on the radio live and the picture and sound quality is just absolutely perfect. No glitches, nothing. Very good investment. I have been telling everyone on every message board to sign because it is the best thing ever. And the best part, commercial free and not have to listen to commentators that you don't want to listen to. Go girl

That would be amazing! People talk of ways to improve the popularity of the sport, this is the way to do it. Tennis Australia, The French Tennis Federation and the USTA have got to incorporate this into their slam events.

Thanks for the response Gretchen Fox.

I think its very good Wimbledon Live. I plan to get it again next year when I have a better computer so it doesn't crash as much. Great job and I agree. Lets extend it to all slams.

I agree. I have really enjoyed this Wimbledon much more than other Grand Slams so far because I get to choose what I want. It will be very disappointing going back to normal coverage for the U.S Open where I have to watch what they choose to telecast.

Gretchen, I have a question though. How come there isn't any commentating on most of the courts? The FAQ said there was supposed to be English commentary on six courts.

It doesnt rock for me it is constantly buffering every three seconds!!! Anyone no how to fix this??

Sammy 4 eva!!!
Jul 7th, 2007, 12:06 PM
For me now it works fine

(At least outside courts)

Court 2 starts to load and then stops, CC loads and plays about 10 seconds before stopping and giving me missing codec error.

It buffered quit a bit but I switched to a bigger buffer, so now it works fine

How do you do that???? Cause mine is non stop buffering!

Well, I have high-speed internet, but when I did the bandwidth test, it turned to to be less than 500 kB/s (which is the minimum I believe) at times, so I'm pissed... As far as buffering, usually it just freezes for a few seconds from time to time and keeps going, which is very annoying nonetheless. Last year, it worked better, I think, though.
