It's not "the New Center Court". It's the interim Centre Court.

In Constantinople we spell it "Sentir"

Love the new Centre Court (when it's completed) - the roof should have gone on 30 years ago!

An extra 5,000 seats would have been nice as well, so us REAL tennis fans can watch some of the action.

It reminds me of the Ordina Open center court. I liked the old one beter, but it's not bad.

It looks SO weird being totally open and unfinished. You can also see how (relatively) small it is compared to other large tennis stadiums, i.e. Ashe or Chatrier. Or maybe it just looks smaller because it slopes back less steeply than other stadiums. But I'm sure it will look great when completed and rain-protected - which will be 2010?

Federer said the wind was totally different with Centre Court being open, so we'll see how different the conditions play sans roof.

Ummm..it is in a transitional phase people. I'll be so glad when CENTRE Court has its roof. This Wimbledon rain pisses me off.

I don't like it but without the roof it does look bigger

what's the point of this?

it's the first stage to getting a new roof. it's not really a "new" center court. they are prepping it.

I don't like it, but the roof is needed, so I don't really mind it...

I think this "in-between" Centre Court seems more generic than it used to be. The roof made the stadium more intimate and special. However, it is important to remember that this is only temporary. By next year's championship, the fixed part of the new roof will be in place. (The moving part of the roof will not be operational until 2009.) This will be a year to remember, since 2007 will be the only Wimbledon where there was ever no sort of roof on Centre court. I think the new court will be a great addition, and hopefully, the look of Centre Court will remain similar to what it always was in the past.

Someone was asking about comparison pictures of the various incarnations of the Center Court roof, so here are some examples.
