I wonder what does Justine have to do to keep her no.1 ranking during Wimbledon?
Justine's no.1 rankingpolly Jun 23rd, 2007, 09:10 PM I wonder what does Justine have to do to keep her no.1 ranking during Wimbledon? ViennaCalling Jun 23rd, 2007, 09:13 PM Except of screaming "Allez"? I guess nothing :o mdterp01 Jun 23rd, 2007, 09:15 PM If Maria makes it one round further than Justine, Maria is the new #1. Mikey B Jun 23rd, 2007, 09:17 PM wow didnt realise that! i though she was pretty safe due to maria's lack of play this year... i guess the AO final and FO semi's gave maria alot of points... if jankovic does well and wins i wouldnt be shocked if she became the new number 1... less points to defend than maria or justine! Rosslyn Jun 23rd, 2007, 09:22 PM If Maria makes it one round further than Justine, Maria is the new #1. totally wrong... without wimbledon points from last year: justine: 4007 maria: 3538 difference: 469 so even if justine loses in 1st round, maria must make at least finals to reach no.1 Bruno71 Jun 23rd, 2007, 09:24 PM If Maria makes it one round further than Justine, Maria is the new #1. I don't think that's true. With last year's points off, Justine has 4009 points and Maria has 3540, according to TheBoiledEgg's thread. Maria would have to make the final to gain 700 points and surpass that 4009...so if Maria makes the final and Justine loses at or before the 4th round, she'd surpass Justine. If Maria wins it all (4540 points), Justine would have to lose before the final (4459 points for a Justine semifinal). Please correct me if I'm wrong. Jelena seems to have a mathematical but unlikely chance at #1. evan2907 Jun 23rd, 2007, 09:25 PM For Jelena, to become n°1 she must win the title and Justine must lose before the fourth round and Sharapova must't go to the final schorsch Jun 23rd, 2007, 09:30 PM omg, i love this threads :) they're so theoratical. well, i dont know wether justine will want to lose in the first round like she did against daniilidou once -_-, but i just hope masha and jelena go deep in this years wimbledon. rankingwise its gonna be as thrilling as ever again, so bring it on. go wimbledon ! evan2907 Jun 23rd, 2007, 09:30 PM Justine will stay n°1 if she goes to 1/2, or if she loses to Serena in 1/4 but Sharapova doesn't win Wimbledon.;) rottweily Jun 23rd, 2007, 09:36 PM Final, Justine vs Venus, problem solved. schorsch Jun 23rd, 2007, 09:38 PM for me that would actually be a problem, it would mean both masha and jelena wouldnt be in the finals. noooooooooot good! :haha: polly Jun 23rd, 2007, 09:47 PM i would really love to see justine remain no.1 loppy Jun 23rd, 2007, 09:54 PM Final, Justine vs Venus, problem solved. I like your solution. :yeah: schorsch Jun 23rd, 2007, 09:56 PM now look at that all the justine fans showing up. :) you really want her to win this one so badly, huh ? pretty understable though :i JustineTime Jun 23rd, 2007, 11:16 PM Final, Justine vs Venus, problem solved. That would be delicious!!! :lick: eck Jun 23rd, 2007, 11:21 PM Except of screaming "Allez"? I guess nothing :o I don't even understand why people love to pick on Justine for yelling "Allez". Almost everyone does it in their own ways. Maria does, Serena does, PASZEK does. :p If anything, I think it's better to yell out anyways. It just shows how competitive WTA is. Fight for every point. Do or die. shibster Jun 23rd, 2007, 11:51 PM I don't even understand why people love to pick on Justine for yelling "Allez". hm, you need to waste more time in GM then, :P. ©@®eLess Jun 24th, 2007, 12:48 AM I wonder what does Justine have to do to keep her no.1 ranking during Wimbledon? stop Jankovic playing 30 tournaments a year and reaching semis or better in each one of them | |
