Why play and risk getting injured more when a Grand Slam is only days away?

I thought Nadia should have retired yesterday. No reason to risk Wimbledon this week.

There is definitely a trend in Petrova's preparation for the slams :o

Sydney
R2 Ana Ivanovic - Petrova(4) 6-2 4-2 ret.

Rome
R3 Elena Dementieva(10) - Petrova(5) 4-3 ret.

Eastbourne
SF Amélie Mauresmo(2) - Petrova(3) 6-4 0-0 ret.

Nadia should have retired after the 2nd set yesterday, and let Bammer play today.

With her draw, she could very well make into the quarters, where she'd play Amelie.

I'm personally hoping she doesn't make it past the 2nd round.

Is Yaroslava coming back from injury or something? I think Nadia could lose to her though. She could be tough.

Honestly, so what? Why get injured before a slam? The one with Dementieva is obviously about an injury even to anyone who hates her.

She had a bad tummy in Eastbourne but entered the Wimbledon doubles qualifying competition this week and played two matches and lookd fit and healthy so I'm hoping and expecting a fit healthy Yari at Wimbledon ready to rock. :rocker:
