Jun 22nd, 2007, 03:42 PM
- Justine over Serena (Justine is doing it very well on grass but is Miss Williams there.. 55/45 just cause Justine is the number one she deserves 5% more
- Hingis over JJ (just cause JJ would feel the tireness of play like crazy)50/50 all depends on Jelena though .. I reckon is not the best Slam to Martina and we dont know if she is fit this days.. even can be "Anna C" a side Hingis and even I think Jankovic will lose cause to be tired..
- Mauresmo over Ivanovic (Momo is playing good, is one her surfaces, and the champion)70/30
- Sharapova over Kuzzy (Not Kuzzy just to be irregular and get injure easly, so aside when she is on fire .. and she plays great, Maria must be the fav.. as a former champ of Wimbly and cause is her best surface too) 70/30

I'm not sure about the 7th quarter. Svetlana is kinda out there because of the injury, so it's really open for someone to make a breakthrough.

Quite boringly I will predict:
Henin vs Serena (Henin wins in 3)
Jankovic vs Hingis (surprisingly Hingis in 3)
Ivanovic vs Vaidisova (Vaidisova in 2)
Paszek vs Sharapova (Sharapova in 2 - have been impressed with Paszek this year, and she has a good draw with only the mecurial Kuznetsova as a threat - and she has never done well on grass. I would have put Golovin, but I don't think she can do it with so little match practice - maybe next year)
THEN:
Henin beats Hingis in 2
Sharapova beats Vaidisova in 3
The only ones I can really see losing beforehand now (with Eastbourne and s'Hertogenbosch on record) are Sharapova (to V. Williams) and Ivanovic (to Petrova), but I don't think either is likely. It's unimaginative, I know, but the top 8 seeds have all looked sharp in the past month, or else the past two weeks.

I'll amend my previous post. Ivanovic's section is probably a little more open than that. Ivanovic is quality, but she also has rough edges that crop up now and then and could conceivably lose in the 2nd or 3rd round (although it's unlikely), and I'm actually going to tip Ruano-Pascual to make the 4th round in Petrova's 16th of the draw.
Also, Hingis has a pretty good shot against Chakvetadze.

I believe Hingis has been gone for too long to beat Anna.

I'm surprised so many people have picked Petrova to the quarters. I mean, she's had injuries recently and her dedication was questioned just a few days ago.

Despite the general consensus here that she played an awful match against Bammer, I thought it was quite nice, plus she played Mauresmo very close in the semifinal. She has a great grasscourt game and I expect her to do well in Wimbledon due to it.

I thought she played well against Bammer, too, and reasonably well against Mauresmo. I just don't see Nadia losing before Ivanovic, and even then, she's looked a lot more comfortable on grass than Ana.

OK, you got me, I apologize in that I hadn't actually seen Ana's matches at S'Hertogenbosch. I was going by what some people wrote about her match against Dani, assuming at least some of them had seen it. I like Ana a lot and will be rooting for her to go far at Wimby.

There were more people writing about this match, than those who actually have seen it. I've got info from first hand and Danka played out of her mind and God bless her at Wimbledon. So for me this match doesn't mean a thing. Ana can go as well far in the coming fortnight as she might crush out early. Same goes for Nadia - I'm not convinced at all that she will reach 4r but if she does along with Ana, Russian will be the favourite. (and I love it).
That will be 5 GS champs with 26 singles titles between them!!! :)

I must say I do like Martina's draw for someone that has been out of action for awhile. She doesn't face anyone that can outhit her, but Anna may be too consistent for Martina's form right now. I will be all ecstatic if she does go far, though! *fingers crossed*
