I got up early to see if the Williams double match was on, but it wasn't -- thanks to the rain.
CNN had Oracene on talking about the Sisters tour of Africa. She said that they will be in S. Africa from July 15-19, and then Ghana, and then Senegal. They will be there to raise awareness of the sport in Africa and to perhaps help develop Challenger events. None of the Williams has ever been to Africa, but Oracene said that it has always been a goal of her to return to her "roots". Oracene will leave for Africa in advance of her daughters to do some fact-finding and to begin preparations for whatever it is that the Sisters will do.
The Today Show had Chrissy on discussing the All-Williams final. I think she did a great job. She made an interesting point: that being that Serena is the #1 player in the world now, and Venus is seeded #1 so that means that BOTH girls are, in a sense, #1 and that Richard should be really proud. She also mentioned that the Sisters are "head and shoulders above the rest of the tour", but that she can't wait for Lindsay and Martina to return to challenge them.
It was a good morning!
