She's just won the French.
She's just gained the #1 ranking.
Will that satisfy her appettite for a bit, or will she have enough 'gung ho-ness' to beat up on her big sister? Maybe will she "feel sorry" (for lack of better words) that she is at the top and has won the last major and just contemplate that long enough to distract her while Venus threepeats?
Personally I think whenever these 2 play each other, psychology has more to do with who wins that who is more athletically inclined to win that day. I guess, my *meaning my own, not anything negative* own feeling would be that if I played my brother last month and beat him and I took #1 away from him yesterday, that maybe if I 'threw him a bone' a bit he would win tomorrow and he'd feel as good as I do, especially since I'm all about harmony among the family and love amongst the siblings.
I guess the question is, who will be more motivated?
Venus who has not won a major since US01 and is #2 now thanks to little sister or Serena who won the most recent major and is #1 now. Honestly, I do think these things matter. They must, look who dominant they are over the most of the competition, then they play the way they do against each other. I know it must be hard to have to beat your sister for a championships, and therein lies the question. Who will be hungrier.
and before certain Williams fans get all huffy and in a stink, this question has nothing to do with matchfixing, preselection of winner or anything along those lines....it's about the sisters mental states; so don't even get funky up in here about that.
