Nice work, thanks. Other players have a lot more trouble with JJ's first serve than one would think. Venus could hardly return a lot of them in the 1st set at RG. Very well placed even when lacking some pace.

Still, she would probably trade few percentage points for
more power.

I'm having serious trouble finding statistics of other WTA players
to compare them with Jelena's but I'll keep looking. Tennis is
in very early stages of evolution. After Wimbledon, I'll lay down
all other statistical categories, however meaningless they
are.

Just to add that Jelena is currently 3rd on the list of
WTA players in "Percentage of Games Won", behind
Henin and Serena (under conditions of at least 25
Tour matches played in Main Draws, and no Fed Cup).

She is 4th in "Percentage of Matches Won", behind
Henin, Serena and Venus, after her run at Wimbledon.

Updated 2007 statistics. Looking at the numbers from
three hardcourt tournaments (San Diego, LA, Toronto),
where Jelena was below average 8-3 and games were
influenced by virus, there are some encouraging signs.

Winning points after her first serve was at season-high
67% during the stretch, and she's giving up only 2.36
breaks per match, while her own break chances are
on the rise, 12 per match.
