Okay, there are spoilers here so if you haven't seen Pirates of the Carribean 3, stop reading!
First of all, I thought it was dumb the movie was entitled "At World's End", when they had retrieved Jack and left "the world's end" about 1/2 an hour into the movie.
Next, did anyone else not really understand???
Okay, here's what I got:
They got jack, because he was one of the 9 pirate lords and still had his piece, didn't give it to anyone.
Anyway, davy jones was being held captive by the english dudes, who threatened to kill his heart.. and they needed davy why? Just for his ship?
So, they get Jack and come back, and they get the 9 pirate lords together. And here's where i don't really understand: Calypso put Davy in charge of driving lost souls or whatever, and he cut his heart out because Calyspo cheated on him or something? And he could only have 1 day every 10 years on land??? So, the original 9 pirate people, way back when, had to take Calyspo the goddess and put her in human form, because she was "scorned" (as they put it) and was too dangerous?
When they meet again, they consider letting her back out, right? but why??? This is where I got confused... was it to kill davy? Like, to stop the british people? Wait, i think i just got it haha... the british were gonna kill all the pirates, using davy, so they had to get rid of him, and they needed Calyspo to do it?
Anyway, there's a big fight, and as will is dying, jack makes him stab the heart so he won't die? Which means that he becomes the captain of the ship? And the crew people cut his heart out, that's what happened there, right?
But, he's the captain, he can't ever die, but he only gets 1 day on land every 10 years. And, on that day, him and Lizzy do the nasty, on the beach, that's what was insinuated there, right? so, after the credits (which i missed...) they say "10 years later" and they now have a kid?
I read on wikipedia that what that means is that there's a law that if the dutchman's captain's girl stays faithful for 10 years, he will be freed of the curse. And i guess they cut a scene from a movie that explained this, maybe because in the next one will will still be on the ship, and they wanted him to be or something???
Okay, i'm sure i left out like a billion things, but i basically need to understand this crap better. If anyone could give a plot summary, it'd be appreciated lol.
do you think they'll make a 4th one about the fountain of youth? They kind of hinted at it...
