The rankings for this week are out and seeing as though French Open goes off them.......

33 DULKO, GISELA

Gisela is 33 with a number of players in doubt.
Apparently Shuai has pulled out of the French so this will mean Gisela will be seeded.

It's definitely an easy draw. As lollipop said, on third round she has a chance. Sharapova isn't a good player in clay and Gisela yes, so, the best Gisela can beat her.

Flavia Pennetta is playing doubles with Vinci, so I think that Gisela is playing with Maria Elena Camerin (I love this couple but I like more when she plays with Flavia). And I think that she is going to play mixed doubles because Fernando Gonzalez is playing Roland Garros. I don't want her to play mixed doubles because three categories are a lot...

You don't think that is underestimating Sharapova? Maria has gone further at Roland Garros than Gisela ever has. Sharapova isn't bad on clay. Maria has made a SF at a tier I on clay, Gisela hasn't ever gone that far at a tier I clay event. I'm not saying Gisela doesn't have a chance against Maria, she does. But Maria is a good player on clay, she is just outstanding on other surfaces.

Good Luck in Paris Gisela:bounce:

Court 17 14:45 comienzo
Ind. femeninos - 1ª ronda.

Difficult match but I think that Gisela has more oportunities than Paola. Gisela's tennis is base on top to the back of the court, and Kudryavtseva is a hard hitter and the worst for a hard hitter player are the balls in the baseline. For that reason Gisela eliminated a few times to Petrova.

(Cooperativa.cl)

Se le fue de entre las manos

PARIS -- Una verdadera pena.

She had match points at 5-1 15-40 with Alla serving.

Trying to work out which match hurts more.. the one against Sev last year where she blew 3 match points in a row or this one where she lost a total of 4 with such a lead.

I can't believe it! :bigcry: Why Gise can't close this kind of matches?
I'll add to your list the match with Bammer in Pattaya.
I oficially hate Kudryavtseva now - first Paola, then Jorgi and now Gise. :fiery: Has she got a problem with argies or what? :tape:

I knew about the Bammer match too but I didn't include it cause it wasn't a grand slam but  she has blown some really, really great opportunities.

I hardly ever, ever, ever get to hear about her and I was so excited cause Maria has every match here shown so I thought  I will get to see Gise on TV third round. And now this.

This is amazing... Many match points and she lost the match. Kudryavtseva won 6 games in a row, that's not possible. Well, a bad day for the Argentinians and Gisela will go down in the ranking. Such a pity!.

Good luck in doubles Gisela.
