This was not my cup of tea. Upgrade You should be the next single IMO.

They're rerunning the whole B'day videos with miss Knowles commentating all the time on MTVBase over here, I'm sick of it already. "this is such a good video, I had the visuals in my head when writing this song" and then just another image of her dancing in yet another skimpy outfit in another of those samelooking backgrounds...

Only "Get Me Bodied" is staying with me from her last album, too bad!

I don't know what to say. Same old gyrations and sexualisations, same old sound, same old weave tossing. And yet another single in the space of what... a week? She is spamming the charts.

And it's quite funny, how this church girl who came up with 'Nasty girl', is making all these saucy videos, flaunting all she has, not forgetting, recently subjecting the front row at a concert to her sweating lower-regions. She ought to be careful, she might end up switching off a lot of fans.

I think it's even more hilarious to see non-Beyonce fans foaming at the mouth waiting to attack every time her name is mentioned. They seem to obsess over her more than her stans, but I understand because one of my older friends told me this is nothing new. He's of the mindset that they've been doing this for years and since Beyonce is the current top female entertainer, it's just her turn.;)

No I don't think that's the case.
When Janet was the top female entertainer, she might have had a few critics as in in the late 80s (some people didn't think she could pull off a good ballad) but it really stopped after that.
I guess when you talk about deeper things and social injustices and issues, more people are able to relate.

 Well i can understand that mindset, though i do feel it makes some major generalisations, since it over looks exactly why some people are non fans, assuming it's some kind of periodic shift. As one of my old friends would say, some people just don't like the product, and the sad fact that this is apprently the top selling product, will mean that people are more likely to offer their opinions on it (negative or positiev), more so that is this was a small product.

That is, if for example Melinda Dolittle or say Erykah Badu was the top female artist, i don't think the same people supposedly foaming at the mouths would be 'attacking', instead you'd have a different group that didn't appreciate the quality singing and lyrics. :D

Suga Mama is better than Upgrade U, which is just an average Hip Hop tune with a moderatley catchy chorus and an appearance of Jay-Z most of the reviews i read of B'Day had Suga Mama as one of the best tunes. I was produced by Rich Harrison too :hearts: can't go wrong with that :)

I'm usually not a fan, but I have to say I was impressed with some of the songs and the videos, even though they are musically all similar to each other and to her past DC and solo songs. My favorites are Get Me Bodied and Freakum Dress. Upgrade U isn't bad either and Suga Mama is also good. Get Me Bodied is pure dancefloor hotness though and I loved the video of Freakum Dress. She's definitely one of the better performers in this generation even though I think her singing and her voice are completely overrated.

I actually like Beyonce's Suga Mama.
It's R&B with an alternative edge that works well in a pop market.
If she wanted to she has the ability to rock it out or soul it down in her live concerts.
I like the grit she shows in the end of the song, Yes, yesa, yeaaahhhh, you have to have a voice with a bit of soul to pull that off.

Basically it's a song about a women (or a man), that has been dicked down so good, that they're making sure they don't fuck anything up.
All the bills got to be paid so they don't get in the way, hell that boy needs my credit card, he needs to be looking fly if he's hitting it like that.

Let me make sure everything is in the house that he needs so he doesn't have to go out house too much.

I know some of yall have been there.
It might not have been as extreme as the lyrics are talking about but I know the thought has entered your head of buying your boy or girl something just for the hell of it not knowing that on a subconcious level it's been about the sex.
