I think he'll wake up sometime near the end of the book, realising he just had a wet dream; so he'll have to go downstairs to wash his pyjamas and blankets. And due to his lack of imagination (due to watching too many movies and playing too many video games) the characters in his dreams directly correspond to the people in his real life. After he goes back to sleep and re-awakens, he's forgotten his dream maybe except for the adolescent notion that the whole world is against him.

Hopefully JK Rowling will not miss out on her opportunity to impression young minds with the final book.

For example, kill Harry - a victim of street wand (gun) crime.

Or Ron and Hermione can have a teenage pregnancy.

Or someone can come out - maybe Neville, he always comes across as having inner turmoil.

I started re-reading the whole series in april. I read the first 5 books in about a 3 weeks. Just started the 6th book after a 2 weeks break to revise for my Uni finals exams.

I cant wait for the book. I will lock myself in my room that weekend and not go online.

I started reading the books maybe a month or two ago. Go through 1-5 quickly. I'm on Chapter 2 of 6 but I haven't read it in maybe two weeks.

Rereading maybe a good idea. I feel like I've forgotten at least half of what I read, and only remember the main storylines.

Hopefully some asswipe from this board won't post any spoilers.

I'm not really all that excited by the movie.
I hated Book 5. Only Book 2 was worse.
Of course, I'll see it at some point this summer, if only to see how SB dies, if nothing else.

I echo thse sentiments actually, I thought OoTP was awful and the only low point of the series. A bloated, incoherant turgid mess.

I thought Book 4 was the worst one

Monica_Rules
Oct 18th, 2007, 01:37 PM
Book 4 was great.

I'd rank them

1.Deathly Hallows
2.Order of the Phoenix
3.Goblet of Fire
4.Half-Blood Prince
5.Azkaban
6.Philosophers stone
7.Chamber of secrets

I liked the emotion of book 6 the whole Dumbledore dying just got to me so i liked the book it had a lasting effect. Nothing beats the 7th though.

1. Half-Blood Prince - This is really the book that drew me back to the Bildungsromane of Harry Potter. If there's a turning point in the series, in my opinion, it was in this book. Hogwarts had always been a sanctuary for the kids in the novel and for the readers. That was no more in this book.

2. Goblet of Fire - Another minor turning point in that by having the death of a major character the story suddenly became very serious. It became real and you get the "you're not in Kansas anymore Dorothy" feel.

3. Deathly Hallows - Arguably the best because I read it quicker than all the others but in retrospect perhaps it was due to the hype.

4. Prisoner of Azkaban - Purely for the twist.

5. Chamber of Secrets - Love the Basilisk.

6. Philosopher's Stone - I actually lost interest towards the end of this book and was almost ready to write it off as another kid's book. Luckily, I was probably very bored during those holidays.

7. Order of the Phoenix - Long, bloated and repetitive. This book almost killed it for me.

For me, it would be:

1. Deathly Hallows: Just... wonderful. I loved every word of it. The last few chapters were fabulous!
2. The Order Of The Phoenix - I loved dumbledore's army and loved the chapters at the ministry of magic.
3. The Prisoner of Azkaban - Loved the book, can't stand the movie much anymore.
4. The Half Blood Prince - It was a tragic ending for the book, but it was just great. I loved the backround of Voldemort.
5. Philospher's Stone - I really love this one of course because it was the one that got me hooked.
6. Goblet Of Fire - Wasn't the greatest but I still really enjoyed it. Loved the Yule Ball and the champions. The movie was great as well.
7. Chamber Of Secrets - This book is so utterly boring to me. I can't even stand reading it. UGH. This is like the worst book of the series in my opinion.

1. Order of the Phoenix- Turned the series in an entirely new, darker direction. Long, mysterious, devastating, and wonderfully written.
2. Prisoner of Azkaban- Introduced my favorite character, added a terrific new storyline, gave the best surprise ending of the series.
3. Deathly Hallows- If only for wrapping up everything as cleanly and satisfyingly as she did. A perfect end to the series.
4. Goblet of Fire- The most "epic" of the series. The entire Triwizard Tournament was an incredible read.
5. Half-Blood Prince- The background into Voldemort's life and family was very interesting. Parts of the book read like a fanfiction.
6. Sorcerer's Stone- Good, but Rowling definitely became a better writer as the series progressed.
7. Chamber of Secrets- Seemed like a filler between the introduction of the story and the addition of Sirius. Still very enjoyable, of course.

I loved the OotP book. It may have been long, but Umbridge was just brilliant. That made the book worthwhile

But nothing beats Deathly Hallows.

From about Chapter 22 onwards is just :speakles: :goosebumps:

8 Days now!

I'd rank it like this:
1.Order of the Phoenix-Just love everything about umbridge and especially Luna.
2.Deathly Hallows-Read it in English so you can't really compare yet but it was awesome.
3.Half-Blood Prince-Just the beginning of a fascinating final
4.CHamber of secrets-I really like the parts with Dobby it's not that bad
5.Prisoner of Azkaban-Was a great read and it was surprising to see no real fight
6.Philosopher's Stone-Was a good beginning but lacked something special
7.Goblet of Fire-I just think it's worse it's ok but only like the Tournament in there the rest was just hard to read but liked the fact I got darker and slowly the war begins
