Agreed.
It was just SO LAME.
I mean they tried to make it funny but it just was so stupid.

Not total disaster, but easily weakest of the series (which was never that great anyway). I hate how Venom character was rushed & made wimpy. I hate movie Mary Jane, who is weak and does nothing except moons over Peter, who by all accounts is a loser. I hate how the women of the series have no other role than fall from high buildings to be rescued by Spidey. And finally I hate those overly contrived touchy-feely scenes.

My thoughts exactly, the second Spiderman was watchable but even then it wasn't great. The only reason I saw the third one at the cinemas is because I got free tickets and thought I might as well check it out.

I didn't like the first one. Hated the second. And hated this one even more. I only went because my best friend wanted to go. It was too long and too boring.

You pegged every single reason I hated it too. Except you left one out---
Why the HELLLL did they cast that no-talent Tobey Maguire as the lead?!?!?!?! He's embarrassing just to watch.
Spiderman is supposed to be action, humor, vicious villains, and a great ending. This garbage was just tepid romance, weak acting, and bad bad BAD casting.

To me, the movie was just an outlet for the two biggest dorks of this decade, Topher Grace and Tobey Maguire, to be something they're not, heroes/villians.
They failed miserably at making me believe they could ever be cool.
The emotional parts were overdone to the point where I couldn't stop laughing.

It was like The Lord of The Rings but somehow someway even gayer with Kristen Dunst.
The fact that the movie had the nerve to have a moral at the end made me want to vomit.

I knew I should have gone and watch Georgia Rule.
At least I would have enjoyed Lindsay Lohan and the ending wouldn't have sucked.

The camp emo hair was just not working for me. I mean, I chuckled at it, but it wasn't as funny as they were trying for. Awful movie. Glad I never bothered to see the second one.

It had so many sub-plots that most of them turned out half-baked. It was the worst of the series.

Also, watching Kirsten Dunst was a pain. She does nothing but whine and whine and whine...

As far as critical reception goes the 2nd one had great views, followed closely by the 1st one.

But this one had bad reviews but they weren't horrible.

I'm glad I've never gone to see any of them. :wavey:

It was alright, storyline was sooo lame at times, especially dark Spidey, but action made up for it.

Oh, it wasn't that bad.

Some of it was mad funny, like the whole pimping thing - and the grenade :p

I do agree that there was too much in the one movie though.

Similar.

I can't think of Topher Grace as anything other than Eric Foreman. Though aside from the general evil, the characters are pretty similar (Venom and Foreman that is)

I preferd it to the 2nd. I just thought the 2nd one was a remash of the 1st one again.

I've never been a huge fan of the spiderman franchise though.

Really enjoyed the first one, haven't seen the second in a while, and will see the 3rd in a few days. Looking forward to it, despite this thread.

I like Spiderman 3, especially the 2 vs 2 battle at the end between Spidey and the New Goblin against Sandman and Venom.

The one big problem I have with this movie is the character development (especially the villians). Sandman feels like a wimp rather than a badass character - come on, robbing armour trucks and banks to pay for her daughter's treatment? And then Spidey decides to let him go after all the chaos he's done just because he told Spidey what actually happened on the night Uncle Ben died??? This is really lame.....

And Venom... he only got like what... 15 mins of fame? Oh come on! It's Venom... VENOM!!! One of the main badasses in Spidey's comics! What the director did was to downgrade him to a "sidekick" villain, which is a total insult and disgrace!

You know, this movie would been a lot better if they took out the Sandman, make Venom the primary villian, and the New Goblin as the secondary one. Three villains in a movie is way too many... didn't they learn from Batman and Robin (the prime example of "too many villians spoil the broth")?

Oh well, what's done is done... hope the next one would be better than this (if there is ever a Spiderman 4).

for a comic book movie that supossed to entertain i have no complaints. it was fun, had great action scenes, and i was pleased with the character development. you cant please everyone, especially, fanboys and comic geeks, but as a regular fan of the series i was more than satisfied.

It was a ridiculously timed pathetic patriotic plug, and made the action even more laughable bad way, that is]. I thought I was watching Captain America for a second. And I despise Captain America. Talk about your weak characters.

the best part was when they attempted to make him look evil by turning him emo. :haha:

I thouroughly enjoyed it! :D

By far my favorite of the series.

Can't wait till 4 comes out in 09!

Although, I think Venom should've just been left out of this one or at least only appear at the end as the cliff hanger for 4, he was underdeveloped and had like 10 minutes of fame :help:

i liked the humor, that was cute.
the boss of the daily whatever is a highlight of the movie.

nice battles, but i just hate the end, i hate the way Venom is brought in the episode, the way Harry changes his mind in two second. Couldn't the old man have told the truth to him before.
oh & the american flag moment.:p

Yeah, even the creator felt it was time to give up the ghost on that character. :tape: I'm surprised they didn't have the Red Skull off his azz decades ago.
But mark my words ...
He'll be resurrected and given powers. Just wait and see.

I was really disappointed, action scenes were great as usual but the story just lacked everything(even though they tried to fit everything into it) and that scene in the jazz club actually made me feel awkward you could feel the whole cinema cringing! rumour has it they re going to make 4,5 and 6 NOW THAT WOULD BE RIDICULOUS!!!!
