Where are these rumours flying around anyhow? REally? ON what occasion would you buy a girl a diamond ring? Dan23 May 8th, 2007, 12:36 AM REally? ON what occasion would you buy a girl a diamond ring? :confused:Ive seen them bought as a gift...though if you do the eventual engagement ring would have to be much bigger  Yes. Why do ya say that mate? :p Surely not at her age and position in her career  that would be hilarious and plain 'interesting' if she was. I think shes having a lend of ppl by saying things like that because she knows how everyone would react. Anyways we'll see....good luck to her if she is :yeah:  ImaVeggie May 8th, 2007, 01:10 AM In a few of the birthday pics, there's a ring on her ring finger. It's not a typical engagement ring. Here are some: http://img185.imageshack.us/img185/3905/picture10zo3.png http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/2649/picture11ut7.png Lefty. May 8th, 2007, 01:41 AM I highly doubt she would be engaged as 20 years old is quite a young age to be thinking about getting married and I would think that she would know better. And being engaged would probably distract from her tennis and I don't think she would want that to happen. morningglory May 8th, 2007, 03:13 AM In a few of the birthday pics, there's a ring on her ring finger. Any girls care to help me out here? I always thought the wedding and engagement ring fingers were the same. And it doesn't matter what finger a normal ring goes on. Dan23 May 8th, 2007, 05:08 AM Yep, I believe in Russia the right hand 4th finger is the engagement/wedding ring finger. Its the same in some other countries and in many others its the left hand. Maria has often worn rings on her left hand ring finger. Maria Croft May 8th, 2007, 08:44 AM I doubt it  CDGS22 May 8th, 2007, 01:32 PM I'm not a girl but I do know Russians wear their wedding rings on their right hand really? that is interesting, i never knew that. By modern convention, the ring is usually presented as a betrothal gift by a man to his prospective bride while or directly after she accepts his marriage proposal. It represents a formal agreement to future marriage. Similar traditions purportedly date to classical times, dating back from an early usage reportedly referring to the fourth finger of the left hand as containing the vena amoris or "vein of love". In the United States today, it is becoming more common, but still quite rare, that a woman will also buy an engagement or promise ring for her fiance at the time of the engagement. In Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Germany, both the man and the woman wear engagement rings. However, in these countries the man's engagement ring is sometimes used as the wedding ring. The female usually gets a diamond wedding ring. Some men wear two rings, but this is still rare. Weird info... off topic here but I do know some women who buy their own engagement rings (not for their bf's tho)... Dan23 May 10th, 2007, 12:14 AM Rings on both left and right hands... http://img515.imageshack.us/img515/8978/4pa1cpkma0.jpg MS_FP May 10th, 2007, 12:45 AM Yeah I saw this pic and was waiting for the response to it on this thread...Is she engaged or even married to an American and a Russian now??? MaitaBaby May 12th, 2007, 05:20 AM lol i don't think she's engaged. !!!--Duiz™--!!! Jun 2nd, 2007, 06:16 AM Ha ha... good old times..! msharafan Jun 2nd, 2007, 07:09 AM well if maria isnt engaged or maried its bad luck to wear a ring on your wedding and engagement fingers at least thats what my friend told me! Leroymerlin Jun 2nd, 2007, 12:19 PM yes she's engaged to camilla belle :D Shappica Jun 4th, 2007, 05:32 PM ^ lol. Anyway, in orthodox countries engagement/wedding ring is worn on RIGHT hand- fourth finger. And it's not uncommon to wear a ring on whichever finger you want, because wedding ring is different shape than regular ones you wear everyday, it's easy to see difference, so judging by those rings I'm pretty sure she isn't engaged or anything. | |
