Sveta back up to No. 3 - great news.

I don't feel overly optimistic about the prospect of her playing either Justine or Jelena in the SF - but I have hopes that she will produce a stunning performance and make it through to the final in style.

GO SVETA!!

Sveta's been playing well. This is a good time to play a huge match.

This was Sveta's 3rd 2007 final, Doha, IW, Berlin. No titles in 2007.

It's a great day, though. It's interesting to watch the
more-annoying (annoyed?) Henin fans in GM; you can tell they are
frightened of Sveta, even though they claim not to be.
No one would be so loud to put someone down unless they
had serious issues (fear or love?) of that person.

It's very odd--I can't quite figure it out. You would
think that some of the Henin fans would love to see
Henin not playing well, yet still beating people solely
because those people are afraid of Henin. I play tennis,
and I know that much of tennis is mental, but I don't take
joy in someone else's lack of strength.

I guess we pick our players for many reasons.

Yep, for different reasons Mary..

Justine and Sveta are both my favourites, so it was a weird day today..

Just typed in a long post and lost it because of connectivity issues.

So--main point: I don't think all Henin fans are annoying, and especially
not you, Jodie. Sorry you had a weird day watching your favorites!
When I watch my faves play each other, at least I get to experience joy
because one of them WILL win!

I think she just was a little bit unlucky today, but nevertheless it was great game. But it was already the fouth final in this year and she never won the title  Hope, she'll change that very fast!

But nevertheless during the press conference she was very happy. She told that it was a crazy week, that the match wasn't going her way in the third set and that she just tries to work more on her game. ;)

Not everyone progresses at the same pace. She's still only 21.
(I too would like to see her win finals, but I like to remember
that it's wonderful that she's making finals.)

Thank you

Yeah, but they both lost today, even though they played each other.. :o ;)
Therefore a bit awkward for me.. It would be better if one of them has won..
But yeah, on to the next tournament..

Yep, 21 is very young, and she already has a slam, and is a slam-finalist..
And several big results.. More big results will come eventually..

It's not a disaster. Sveta beat Justine, and that was important to her.
Nadia won Berlin last year, it doesn't change your life. Getting to RG healthy and in top form is important.
