Could some mind games be going on? Tatiana retires then Dinara pulls out od doubles citing a left wrist injury exactly the same as Vera does....I hope both girls are ok

Dinara won 2 matches with her opponents retiring
It makes her at least $100,000, and Dinara is back in the top 10 next week.
Now lets see if Dinara can win a Tier I

Dinara played sooo terribly that I was mad at her. Anyway she can only take positives from this week. Best of luck on redclay! :yeah: Shame she doesn't come to Warsaw. I'd love to watch her play in person.

It was obvious the conditions affected Dinara greatly. She will do even better on the red clay now though - much more to look forward to from Dinara!!:worship:

Safina’s frustration with winds that peaked at 56 mph proved the breaking point.
“It was going everywhere,” Safina said. “It was difficult to serve, like you’re tossing the ball, and the ball just ... the ball is just flying. You don’t know where little Mr. Ball is going to go. You’re running behind him every time.”
A storm front that barreled through the Lowcountry early Sunday morning forced a brief evacuation of the tournament’s various facilities prior to opening the gates. With a 1 p.m. television time looming, tournament officials cleared the players to begin warming up 40 minutes prior to ESPN’s air time.
Though the clouds eventually parted, the wind speed increased, leading to numerous debris delays and missteps by the two finalists.
At one point, Jankovic was blown off the service line.
The wind took away both players’ ability to play to their strong suit — ripping winners down the line. It also blew away Safina’s nerves.
“I was struggling with the weather,” Safina said. “But it was the same for her, so I think she was able to handle it better than me.”
