*I know this a bit late but anyway!

Firstly, many congratulations to Serena for yet another extraordinary comeback :worship: :worship: Classic Serena... who else could have played those 2 MP the way she did??? Like every other Justine fan im sure, I haven't felt so deflated since the Wimbledon final last year. But when you take a step back and look at how she played, and you look at the stats, if theres one match you can take positives from - its this one. She won more games, broke serve more times, hit more aces, hit more winners, hit less unforced errors... I mean, she did everything BUT win the match. If you cant win after doing all that, you've just got to hand it to Serena. She fought and she fought and her game, luckily for her, just clicked into gear right in the nick of time. Hats off! :worship: Justine didnt choke whatsoever. Sure she missed the 1st serves on MP, but she went for it. She didnt just float the serve in and hope for Serena to miss. She made Serena hit 2 (or was it 3?) smashes while looking directly into the sun, she couldn't have done anymore. In the 3rd, whilst every other player would been baggled by Serena in the same situation, Justine fought back and was hitting toe for toe with Serena. It may take Justine a week or so to get over this (and much longer for us fans:rolleyes: ) but knowing how close she came on a hardcourt, im sure she'll be confident and determined not to let Serena off the hook again, only this time on the red stuff!! :)

All thats left to say is... What a wonderful match, thank you to both players (for nearly giving me a heart attack!) and hopefully we'll see a lot more finals between these 2 not only this season, but for quite a few more years to come :) Congrats again Serena :yeah:.... Juju will get you next time!!

So much positive vibe from all corners today.
It is unbelievable.

Great post.
They made Miami final special, a far cry from forgetable IW final.
No disrespect to Dani

Justine didn't choke. I just wish she'd played better in critical moments.

Very classy comments IrishJHfan. Thanks, and I´m so with you on the part of them meeting each other a lot. I hope they stay healthy and give us many more fights on the court to enjoy.

Now with that I can diagree!  But yeah, the 3rd set was great quality. Who would have thought the serves would win or lose the match after all the breaks that went before! It was 50:50 at 3-3, it was just a question who could up game their game by that slightest bit more... and that was Serena so...

Hmmmm....she played her heart out for sure. Serena was just too tough today. Brilliant start, but it was certain that she couldn't keep on that form for the whole match and then Serena got her chance.

Justine DEFINITELY choked if she was smart she would of SERVED into Serena's body and one of those match points. Justine blew it. She had the match on her racket TWO MATCH POINTS she was SERVING she got tight and collapsed. Justine HAD the control she was the one serving for the title but couldn't close it out. She choked.

You´re really a destructive addition to this board.
This is a good thread and here you come with your negative untrue crap.

Justine blew it going down 0-3 at the beginning of the third set. She dug deep and fought back, but you just don't give S Williams that kind of lead in the decider.

Congratulations to both ladies for a top match - until the next time ....

Can agree with that. I don't remember the game at 4-3... how did Justine play it?

Serena held to love... which was rather annoying 'cause some of the serves were quite returnable. I think Justine just took too long to regroup after missing the MP.

2 unforced errors from Justine gave Serena 0-30, then it went 15-30, then Ju double faulted for 15-40 then Justine hit a backhand wide to lose the game. 4 unforced errors :(

I think she missed easy volley at 0 15..That was bad..She was trying to do too much with it i guess..I dont remember either..But you could see that on MPs she was kinda waiting for Serena to make mistake and wasnt going for her angles as she was..Esp early 3rd set! her BH and Fh was sitting in middle of court waiting to be pounced..Anyways serena got only better at the end (except making DFs in 5th game)
