Back on topic, if it were the old Mauresmo of pre-Wimbledon win, we would get those three setters where Serena loses the first set easily and then manages to crawl back and win, as per usual, or crushing defeat of Momo.

Now, I would really like to see them play. Obviously, Serena would be the most likely choice, but I want to see how the new and improved Momo fares now that she has a slam and has beaten Serena the last time they played.

sure, what do you want to know now?

How to hit slice? How to count score in tennis? Official retard is right on the money.

When is the Serena-Mauresmo match starting?

Serena has the slight edge, unless its played on clay where it would probably be a toss-up

Henin's the best

if they have to play todayI would say serena,amélie is not fit enough but if amélie is really at her top health, she probably win.Very close match I think.;)

Serena would win. She lost last time to her, and you know what she's like when she loses to someone

Serena would win. She beat Mauresmo twice in 2004 when she wasn´t in her best form. She gave Mauresmo a bagel in the worst year of her career Us Open 4th round 2006. This Serena beats Mauresmo in straights on hard court in three sets on clay and grass.

lets say both play well and none of them chokes... i'd have to go with amelie. she'd figure something out mixing the game up well.

Agreed...
We all remember the episodes of Momo winning the first set and leading in the second before being taken over by her evil persona, ChokoMomo.
Now, I'd say she has a much better chance to even out her record with Serena. I really want those two to play to see whether Serena still has that effect on Amelie.
Amelie isn't just some power player, her variety is known to cause trouble to Serena.

i think serena would win quite handily

Serena leads the H2H 10-2. That's just too lopsided to ignore.

Also, the last time they played on clay, Serena won 6-1 6-2.

Serena. Last time they played, she bageled Mauresmo in the second set and then lost anyway, so I think she would be on a mission to win. And we all know the carnage that lies in the wake of Serena on a mission.

'New and Improved' Mauresmo has since wimbledon lost to Petrova, Sharapova, Safarova, Vaidisiova, Jankovic, Kuznetsova ... some big hitters. My point being her game still does not stand up too well againts women with big shots. Serena is at the top end of this group, and would certainly not bet against her.

True. That forehand will just be bashed and her backhand is not consistent enough. On grass I think she could cause some trouble to Serena with her slices and her blocked returns. And her serve on grass can be pretty effective too.

Depends what surface:

actually, scratch that. It depends on how Serena plays who am I kidding?

But Amelie stands a better chance on clay and grass...they would both be tough asks given her history with Serena though!

And, supergrunt, why does it say "Official retard and troll" under your name? Did you put that there yourself? And if so...why exactly? :help:

"New and Improved" Mauresmo would be victorious: 6-4, 0-6, 7-6

This scoreline has nothing to do with Mauresmo :wavey:

Right now, Serena probably handily. The Mauresmo of the first half of last year would give her a run for her money. She has the type of game that can bother Serena, not unlike Justine's. But Momo would have to play at her absolute best and be very aggressive.

Lol but it had something to do with the post that I quoted. It was the irony, that is all. Relax...
