Props to most Serena and most Justine fans for behaving quite well. :worship::worship: I think we all know that we saw a fabulous match with 2 fabulous players. Serena, although not my fave, is a gritty fighter. She and Justine had a kind exchange and I think the crowd in Miami probably was stunned to see what Justine can produce too. It really was a fun match. of course, I was sad that Justine did not put in a first serve on her championship points but I love the fact that someone showed how all court and smart tennis (from both girls) is way more effective than just a one dimensional power game.:worship:

8 days ago I went through open heart surgery to replace a valve in my heart that should have had 3 cusps (the aortic valve). My valve was only formed with one cusp. but watching the type of shots Justine produces and how she has endured adversity really inspires me to make a full recovery. For that I just love the girl.

Also big props to Serena. great fight! :)

TRUE Serena fans and TRUE Justine fans can be some of he most level-headed, civil posters here. Its just the opportunist fans that talk and stir up a majority of the shit. There are some Henin fans that hate Serena and some Serena fans that hate Henin, but you would never know it based off of the fans' reaction today. No bitterness, and no gloating.

Get well soon too, btw.

Yep. Juju has always had my respect as a competitor and for what she brings to the tour. I don't have to be a fan to appreciate her.

As for the fans, if you really get to know the hardcore Serena fans you'll see that as a group we're sensible and not nearly as bad as we pegged out to be- not to imply there aren't some bad apples. Every bunch is good for a few...

Glad to hear you're a fighter, and I'm wishing you the best.

I agree with you and glad to see that you are recovering from surgery.

Might I ask how old you are? Was the reason that you had the surgery b/c you had symptoms (shortness of breath, angina or others symptoms?)

Good thread treufreund, get well soon!

I think that every true tennisfan enjoyed yesterday´s match. I´m glad the responses were/are as they should be. Respectful of both players.

I guess it was good for GM to experience such a drought of true quality matchups over the past two years (excluding Wimby final 2005) to appreciate it when it came back :tape:

Yesterday´s match made me remember why I became a fan of women´s tennis. It´s because of matches like this.

I also want to ask you isn´t excitement like this too much for your heart?
My heart for example was pumping like crazy yesterday when Justine had two matchpoints.

I agree with you and glad to see that you are recovering from surgery.

Might I ask how old you are? Was the reason that you had the surgery b/c you had symptoms (shortness of breath, angina or others symptoms?)

yes i had angina, extreme fatigue, shortness of breath, dizziness. it was found that I have not a bicuspid valve but instead a UNICUSPID valve which almost NEVER happens. I am 33 years old.

Hey All,

Great post - treu. I too wish you a speedy Gonzales recovery. Love - live - tennis.

I enjoyed the match yesterday. Even at 0-6, I knew Serena could come back. And to hear that Pops had said the same to Pam reinforced the feeling. Both, Justine and Serena are real big fighters on the tour. They now are the tier one of the tour. Venus, Maria, Kim - Elena, Peer and some othes are good fighters too - but they are a little behind the aforementioned ones.

Both players showed gritty determination and fight. Serena won the last three of the 2nd and the first three of the third. There was her 6-0 set.

And did anyone notice that all of the four finalists at this prestigious tourney were all showing off their Wilson rackets? Serena, Justine, Novak and Canas. What a great advertisement for Wilson.

"GREAT FIGHT SERENA" "YOU'RE THE TOPS" "ONCE YOU WERE LIKE 'LET'S GET IT STARTED' YOU ROCKED AND ROLLED"

"GOOD ON YOU TOO JUSTINE FOR YOUR FIGHT AND YOUR HANGING ON IN THE SETS AFTER FALLING - AND FOR GIVING SERENA HER VICTORY" "PROPS TO YOU"

BTW, the board is only civil because Serena won. Had it been the other way around, it would have been horrible. Even now, we are still debating, whether Henin is a better play than Serena:banghead:

for me the only player i fear most is justine.I am a true serena fan but the only person at the moment who has the game to unsettle serena is justine.and from the last meeting between the two you can say serena needs abit of luck to stay over justine(what a player)
I STILL WORSHIP THE GOD OF SERENA
