Some will wonder how I can say this but THIS MATCH GIVES HOPE FOR ROLAND GARROS. Miami is a slow hardcourt AND Serena has now seen Justine's best. LET'S ROCK & ROLL! Afterall, Serena is our only hope at Roland Garros because absolutely no other player has any plans of standing up to Justine!

everyone that has faced JH on clay for the past couple years has folded...I don't see either of them doing that...but more so Serena than Venus....she's tougher:devil:

I REALLLLY want Venus to come back and win the French..she's never won it..but she's gotta get focused though...cut back on those unforced errors...hopefully Serena's win will inspire her...come on back big sister!

Ithink Petrova, Vaidisova, Peer and Hingis will do well on clay this year. Serena can't play the way she played today against Henin on clay. She will get killed.

Serena's nail victory over Justine on fast court is a reason for hope on winning Roland Garros ??? :spit: :rolls: :haha:  :smash: :weirdo:

yea but Schnyder for one isn't playing anywhere near a level that could beat me lol...and Petrova doesn't seem to be in damaging form this year...we will just have to see how next week at Amelia Island goes before we say something:)

actually Miami is not a fast court. Its a slow hard court. At least that's what all the players have been saying. The consensus from what I heard players say is that Miami is actually playing slower than IW which is also a slow hard court. USO is a fast hardcourt. Why not have hope? Serena beat Justine after losing the first 6-0 and down match points. Serena beat justine without her best tennis. Her serve was gone and she was constantly misfiring with her backhand, which is her most consistent shot (after her serve which was also poor).

Hmmm well Nadia won Paris, almost beat Serena 1 & 4 :p, had a very tough one against Justine...I'd say she's in pretty good form! Patty sucks this year. :( But she likes the green clay so we'll see.

Miami is a lot faster than IW. You can see that by noumber of breakes and aces, and there are like zillion more of those in Key Biscayne than Indian Wells. And still, hard court is waaaaaaaay opposite from clay! I mean have you ever played on it  ? What you are trying to say is just RUBISH...

JuJu on clay, and JuJu on hardcourts two different persons... So this gives no hope WHAT SO EVER for Serena winning RG!

of course clay is different than hardcourt I never said they were the same. But you said that Miami was a fast hard court which it is not. I mean its hard to tell court speed from the TV so I can't make my own personal opinion on it. But a lot of the male players and tv commentators have been saying that Miami has been playing slow this year and more slowly than IW. And I trust their opinion (since they actually play on both surfaces) more than any stat. So you can believe whatever you want but I'll trust the opinions of the pros on this issue. And serena can beat Justine on clay. Justine is not invincible on that surface.

lol @ this thread.

I don't think you can come up with any conclusions regarding how they'll match on clay just because Miami is "slow hardcourt" or that it's slower than IW. Serena and Venus dominated Justine equally on fast or slow hard courts, and this was the first time that Justine was in a position to beat one, comprehensively, I might add. So If anything, I'd say it's a confidence booster for Justine when they would meet on clay. Not to mention that rallys were really going Justine's way and Serena was trying to keep the points as short as possible. That wouldn't work very well on clay.

Anybody who believes petrova will stand up to Henin in a Grand Slam match is in super denial

Snyder can't even beat an off-form, ufe-making Venus on clay (see '06 RG) so I know she won't beat her.

Vaidisova is improving but come-on people.

In fact, all of them & more would have lost today. Serena is the only hope for Roland Garros. Anybody else would mean Justine is really off her game or sick!

Not sure if I agree with that. JuJu is the obvious favorite IMO, but Serena is a smart player and I think would adjust her game wisely. I would also like to see how JuJu plays Martina, Jelena, Shahar, and Anna on the red-clay, as well as Venus, Nikki, Nadia, etc., I am not saying that they would beat her but the title isn't hers outright.

ummm it is more common for break of serves on slower courts actually as it neutralizes serves a lot more.

I don't think Henin will be invincible on clay this year, however lets wait for the clay season to actually begin.

If Justine can read/attack Serena's serve on a hardcourt surface, just think of what will happen on clay:eek:
Serena's from now until the FO will have to devout the majority of her time correcting her poor footwork and her lack of reaction/anticipation to her opponents shots. She is either flat-footed or lunging at her shots and that is not gonna cut it on a surface that favors groundstrokes.

PS
After watching every match of Serena's that was televised at this event, what the hell happened to Serena's use of angled shots:confused: They were on full display at Melbourne and on hiatus here.:fiery:

Henin will win Roland Garros for sure.(Unless she gets injured and pull out.) She got the big crowd behind her and surface suits her. She won here three times. Serena serve will even more easy to return on slow clay than on hard.(who knows we may see a double bagel this time. )

well unless you're secretly Martina Hingis then I'm more inclined to believe a professional player who has played both at IW and Miami then you. And right now you're just acting childish. Is it so hard to admit you might be wrong?

Anyhoo back to the subject at hand. I think if Serena can beat Justine while playing poorly and after being bagelled then that's got to give her a ton of confidence. Haven't seen Serena play on clay in several years so its too early to tell how she will do agains Justine on that surface. But we may find out in Berlin!!

And please go back and read what you said. You were NOT right in what you said - you said that IW was a fast court (in your first post about Serena's victory) :weirdo: So uhh HOW exactly were you RIGHT?

Oh I'm sorry, I forgot, you know Jelena Jankovic, so you must know everything about tennis, and we all must bow before you. Yeah right.
