Okay, first I want to say, as a blatant, unapologetic NON Justine fan...,

Congrats Justine, you truly are a special tennis player! You really took advantage and took it to Serena in that first set and hung tough through out!! You showed class in the end and, while I still am not yet a fan, I'm softening my hard line towards you ( as if you cared).

Now the BIG NEWS (at least for me) the other night, my wife and I had our FIRST CHILD, a baby girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: It's IN-FRIGGIN'-CREDIBLE!!!! So it's been hard to keep up with the tourny, as you can imagine!! But I couldn't help but feeling like Serena's win was kind of icing on top of this delicious cake I'm eating!!!!!!

Serena scared the CRAP out of me when I saw the score from the 1st set. I'm so glad I didn't watch the set played in realtime. Talk about a slow train wreck.

Quick analysis:
Justine really surprised me in how quickly she got off to a good start. I actually thought it would be the other way around, ie, Serena (having had arguably tougher competition) would get off to a quick start and make Justine play catch up. But credit Justine for taking FULL advantage of Serena's serving woes and doing EXACTLY what needs to be done against Serena get out in front asap and make Serena play catch up.

Anyway, congrats to both girls, but especially Serena and the loyal WS fans Faithful!!!! :bounce:

This has turned out to be a wonderous week for me- a week of new beginnings!!! :yeah:

Well analysed Mate,Congratulations on your new baby girl, her SECOND NAME SHOULD BE SERENA and raise her to be a champion.
On Serena's win,i found myself shivering and extremely tense after the first set bagel.I declared her a loser when Henin was serving for the match with two match points, now i realised i was wrong to declare her a loser,Serena and only Serena new she was a winner. Her fighting spirit is second to none, and i must give credit to Justine, she played unbelievable tennis.

congrats for your :baby:

start training him/her as soon as possible:lol:

 You know it! If it wasn't for the Wife, I would have woke the little one up , held her up to the screen and told her, "See, sweetie, now that's mental toughness and fight! That's what we're gonna be workin' on!!"

I am seriously looking for a teeny, tiny play racquet, though.

you're not gonna call her serena, are you? :haha:

...her SECOND NAME SHOULD BE SERENA and raise her to be a champion...

 Believe me the name "Serena" was STRONGLY considered, but the wife is more of a Venus fan.

Thanks for all the good words and wishes, all :D !!!

Congrats on the baby Doublefist, now can your baby at least learn to stand before you go putting a racquet in her hand. I know they say start em young, but can you at least wait until she on solid foods.

Don't start her too early, DF. You want the next Venus or Serena on your hands, not the next Jennifer Capriati. ;)
