God decided it's pay-back time for that hand incident.

I mean she had 2 MP on her own serve and just didn't play tight tennis. she was too relaxed at first, then I think she got tight on serena's and her next service game after she lost her match service game.

That service game at 5-6 was a meltdown for sure, 30-0 up and then 4 stupid errors.

Didn't come out of nowhere.
Justine wasn't controlling most of the rallies.
She stopped opening up the court with that down the line backhand.
She kept showing Serena break point opportunities.
Her first serve percentage was average for her in the second set and she can't do just average against Serena.

Not surprising. We know that Justine can choke (2001 anyone?), and she's never beaten a Williams on a fast court. This was huge and she got nervous. Hopefully she can get herself together, cause Serena still didn't find her first gear and likely will not in this match.

Once you give Serena any kind of opening, she won't let you go.

Serena doesn't usually get bageled.

And that was more about Serena on those match points. This will probably be one of the biggest wins of her career if she pulls it out.

That's another way of saying she's choking, my friend. ;)

That was pathetic.
If she doesn't get herself together, perhaps a bagel could teach her. :p
Allez Justine, wake the *beep* up!

At least the match proved that Justine's best tennis is the best on the WTA tour. But Serena's mental toughness is unmatched. She was completely outplayed and still managed to break her opponent down. Better luck next time Justine!

Justine didn't fold under pressure.
Serena is the toughest player to serve a match out against in this generation of tennis players.
I might even contend that Serena is even tougher to serve a match out against than Steffi Graf.

Every opponent knows that even if one is up 60 5*-4 you are still so far away to win against Serena. Thats why they are getting tight and play passive tennis. Henin served two DF's at 54 and played short balls into the middle of the court which were killed by Serena.
