I think Serena will win in three sets. Henin is a tough cookie and I don´t think she will be downed in two sets. I just hope it will be a very good match that lasts 3 hours. That would be great!

Little Justine Henin is just as much a fighter as Serena. So I'm thinking it might go to three. If both are feeling well, it should be a dog fight with Serena coming with power, but Justine also able to return power.

Should be a great match, but I'm going with Serena in three.

She'll be ready for a player who defends well, as she has played Peer.

Serena Williams (http://sports.yahoo.com/ten/players/134/) beat the best the Israeli Army had to offer.

Shahar Peer (http://sports.yahoo.com/ten/players/950/), a 19-year-old corporal, kept things close for an hour before Williams pulled away, winning 7-6 (4), 6-1 Thursday night for a berth in the final at the Sony Ericsson Open.
"I started out really slow," Williams said. "I think I was a little nervous. And then I just finished well."
One test remains this week for the rejuvenated Williams: a revival Saturday of her long-dormant rivalry with Justine Henin (http://sports.yahoo.com/ten/players/4218/). The Belgian reached the Key Biscayne final for the first time by beating Anna Chakvetadze (http://sports.yahoo.com/ten/players/1082/) 6-2, 6-3. "Justine has been playing some of the best tennis on the tour," Williams said. "She's doing awesome. This will be a real test of my game."

i hate making predicions cuz i'm always wrong. Serena hasn't played someone with as much variety in their game as Justine since Mauresmo. And she lost that one. On the other hand Justine hasn't played against anyone with as much power as Serena. Serena's knee is sore, Justine hates Miami....lol 3 sets.

64 67 75 winner is __________

Hard to say. Serena is pretty unpredictable with her play. She looked awful today, her serve saved her. She played better in the 2nd set though. I hope her knee is better on Saturday and that she comes out focused.

Justine is playing continuing her consistent good play. Serena needs to bring her game up to the level she played in her match against Sharapova.

Serena Leading in the Poll against the number 1 player.
She already beat number 2.
If she beats number 1, she is literrally cutting the head off the WTA ranking.

She will have earned the right to raise her index finger :yeah: in sign of number 1.
Because the numbers 1 and 2 would not have a good argument to contest her claim.

They can't say to Serean: you can't claim number 1 until you beat us

Just some interesting facts about this tournament, Serena has not dropped a set on her way to the final. Justine dropped a 2-6 set to Virginie Razzano in the 3rd Round. Serena's served up 4 breadsticks, while Justine made 1. Both players have won all their tiebreaks this week.

Regardless of who the opponent is, against Serena at this point in time, they are in no mans land.

Toss your head to head with Justine and Serena out the window. What does that have to do with this specific point in time?

And Forget the knee, if it were really an issue, she'd withdraw.

very hard to say. even if it goes deep in the third i wouldn't know who to favour because both excel under pressure. If Serena plays the way she has against Sharapova then Justine will struggle on hardcourt. On the other hand I'm sure Justine won't play like Sharapova and will de everything she can to get Serena out of her comfort zone. tough task though.

Serena is serving and returning way too well. There is a reason that Serena has dominated this matchup off of clay. I expect a good fight from Henin, but Serena will win in 3 I'm guessing. If Henin doesn't serve excellently though, she'll go down in 2 easy sets. Justine does not have the same weapons and power she had in 2003-2004(pre-illness) when she won the only 2 hardcourt slams of her career.

I voted Juju in three, but I don't truly don't know. If Serena serves well, it's over. If Justine serves badly, it's over. If they both serve well and have a lot of rallies, Justine has a good chance. If Serena's knee hurts, Justine could win. If the Argentineans get behind Serena, Serena will win. If the guy in Serena's box is still dancing around like a drunken sailor, Justine will win.
If Richard tells Serena to serve and volley on first and second serves, Justine will win. If Carlos is seen waving the Israeli flag, Serena will win. The list goes on and on...:tape:

Who knows? I just hope it's a great match!

That's definitely true. Usually the super exciting matches occur in the semis or quarters rather than the finals...

Look you are just being controlled by your emotions! Serena played Sharapova and won...big deal, Justine is on the other level, higher level, and she will show Serena from whats she is made of, cos Justine is a fighter ! Justine is now perfect she won't lose, Serena isn't playing smart tennis, if you want to see strength watch ATP matches. + the last match was in 2003 and that was a long time ago so you can't predict anything...Was the last match on hardcourt in 2001, Justine is far more better now! Great stuff. Two real champions, deservedly in the final.

I used to dislike Serena for her attitude but I found myself wanting her to win all the match up to now - as her tennis has been absolutely flawless in the last few matches.

I personally think Serena is playing better tennis at the moment. Mentally they are both so strong. Justine can win but she will have to serve well and make Serena constantly on a run - she is perfectly capable of. As everyone in here would agree, if there is someone who can beat Serena, it would have to be Justine.

I only hope it's not going to be anti-climax.....I want this match to be WON not lost (sounds strange but I hope some of you know what I mean)

If Justine wins, I will be VERY happy. If she plays her best tennis and loses with a close match, I will not mind at all.

If Justine or Serena plays shit or retires, I am not going to be a happy bunny.

Justine is hating the conditions here in Miami and after seeing Serena's performance against Sharapova in Australia being a level above her game previously shown, I expect her to do the same versus Justine.

I predict Serena, 6-2, 5-4 ret. ( ovary illness ).

No but seriously, Justine does not like the conditions and when she has played well, it has been at night. This will be a noon affair. Two tight straights for Serena.

I voted for Serena in 2 sets.

My belief is that the final will be decided on Justine's second serve. I believe Serena will attack Justine's second serve which will put pressure on Justine to get her 1st serve in more, which wil lead to double fault issues and low percentage. Basically I believe Justine's serve breaks down when attacked which may explain why she lost 3 of 4 slam finals last year.

What can Justine do? Well vary her tactics and slow down the pace of her shots, draw Serena in with short angles then use passing shots, go down the lines on the returns and attack the net to keep Serena off balance .

Even though I voted Serena in two lets hope it's a great match if it does go to 3 sets

The reality is Justin had a better chance of winning in 2 sets And Serena did not.

During the match, I could see the reason for the comparisons between Serena and Sharapova. I'm referring to how people say that Sharapova is blond knock-off of the Williams sisters, mainly Serena. In the Miami final, Serena's grunt put me in the mind of Sharapova and the bounding shots reminded me of Sharapova, and that's IT!. haha If only Sharapova could get back her serve and have the net game that Serena has. Speaking of that, what is the real reason Sharapova can dropshot? Is it because she has difficulty transitioning from hard power to soft touch? :)
