remember, she has played four days in a row. She should have played Sunday night and then been off Monday. But due to the rain, she had to play Monday, Tuesday and yesterday. Plus she has practiced twice a day. No wonder her knee is bothering her!

And hopefully one practice session. The only thing she needs to work on is her forehand.

She doesn't like the high loopy shot to her forehand... ;)

Serena needs to go into Pete Sampras mode now. Who gives a shit about breaking serve, just keep holding. As I say this, Serena has a break point for 5-1. Whatever. Just my two cents.

You called it, it's sore, not injured and we can all be thankful for that. A little rest and she'll be fine. This is one of the reasons I'm more than ok with Serena's abreviated schedule. I think a good 14 tournaments a year is sufficient enough for her. I'm thinking long term, she's still got a lot of slams left in her. All of us Serena fans are always a little nervous about her knee, I know it's always on the back of my mind anyway.

You are so right. She must learn to protect her self from injury to have a long career like Andre.

Right on, Stef. I'm relieved for her, and I hope she really gives it everything on Saturday. Allez Serena! Show Justine who's boss! :yippee: :bounce:

Plus she told Pam after the match she forgot to take her anti-imflamatory meds, so that had something to do with it also. Rena :fiery:

Hopefully the day off allows her knee to rest. I think she definetly wants this title so I think she'll try no matter what. But I think she needs to be 100% to get the win.

well it is tough to play 5 matches in a row, but she has a day off to rest it.

but mind you, Justine's not one to fall prey to Serena's divalicous 'tude on the court.

serena will be fine. she's aint injured, she'll be blastin aces away on saturday.

She needs no excuse. Please remember that it was the commentators that started saying she was hurt, not her.

Thats the problem with her type of game and all the power players, they exert so much and might get injured. But I hope she is well because we need all the healthy top players playing this year or else it will be boring :(

Its not the four days of playing straight that's hurting her its the extra weight she's carrying that doing the damage as its putting too much pressure on the knee joint. I know this from personal experience as both my knee are shot are better when I'm not carrying so much weight.
