It's not like he was giving signals or screaming at her. He was talking quietly, and Serena wasn't even looking over at him

omg it was nothing  all the commentators said was "Richard doing some coaching from the stand" And they just sowed him talking. And Serena wasn't even paying attention to what he was saying.
The thread maker is just trying to start some drama, when their is no drama to be started.

Honestly I think Serena blocks out Richard as much as she can as Sharapova does with her dad.

I'm doubtful that Richard would do that, Serena faces enough negative attention from the media and the tour as it is.

He always yells encouragement from the stands, which is totally allowed. Now when you see him actually making signals you can say he's coaching.

Besides Serena wasn't paying attention to him.

She wasn't paying attention to him when she was sitting right next to him. Yesterday she even admitted she wasn't paying attention.

Indeed I didn't see your bitter little butt in any threads yesterday after Nicole asked her box for advice on every call she challenged?

But it's ok I undestand it must sting

Even if she did get coached, which seems highly unlikely (I'm basing it on the Williams reputation since I didn't see the match), who gives a damn?! Would she have really lost without the coaching? And it may not be right, but everyone does it. It's tennis' most open secret. I'm a Hingis fan as my username might indicate, but that doesn't mean I'm blind. Watch the 2000 US Open to see Melanie get caught coaching her. And that's just one of a ton of examples. :p

throughout the match richard seemed to be writing something down.when it was 5-1 thats when i saw him standing up applauding and waving looking happy that his plan worked.i never saw him coaching all he did was applaud every point.

You guys are funny again. But I don't like coaching from the stands and I'm beginning not to like the coaching during matches. I think i changed my mind and I really think when you play tennis, you shouldn't have a coach their coaching you during your match, that system they put up, are they still implementing it? the oncourt coaching thingy?

Black Mamba.

Love or Hate Serena or Venus people have got to admit that they don't cheat.

Whatever Richard Williams was or was not doing from the stands in the semis, what I want to know is what on earth he was doing COURTSIDE with Serena during the Serena/Maria match? No one has explained that to me yet.
