I am sorry but I just had to get it off my system can the guy for once pronounce the last name correctly? Doesn't he get advice as to how to pronounce the players name? Did he not sit down for phonetics in kindergarten?

Paier? Where is the a in Peer? :tape:

This post can be erased I am just so bogged by him pronouncing the last name wrong like 7 times now. Again just 20 seconds ago Paier?

:haha: I thought I was the only one that annoyed. Pat Mac, please get your ATP ass away from this match :p Even her first name, he sometimes says wrong - Shaha' then Shahar. Which one is it? Make up your mind :help:

Even after hearing Mary Joe pronounce the name probably very near to what it should be pronounced he's mispronounced the name another 5 times in the last 8 minutes. :tape:

John McEnroe isn't any better when he's commentating.

Again 5 seconds ago Pi air. :tape:

Oh my God nooooo! Now MaryJoe is getting influenced Pieair. This is pathetic. :o She's heard the idiot mispronounce the name so many times she's now mispronouncing it herself. Probably after mentally telling her self geez this guy is just slow or something how many times is he going to continue getting the last name wrong?

I am sorry it's just so annoying.

The sad thing is this 1st set is even uglier than his pronounciation of Shahar's name :tape:

ROTFLOL - Too bad we don't get ESPN here, could have been funny to hear them broadcasting Shahar, I think it's her first match live on ESPN.

The EuroSport guys just got halfway decent in saying her name somewhat correctly, the h in Shahar a touch more throaty, and they got the peer nailed... (it was more like PAIR 6 months ago) well, at least as close as a none Israeli can get, accent wise. It's a tricky name.

Actually, I think it is pronounced right by McEnroe. In Israeli, if I'm correct you say Pe-er, which will be like he said it: Pai-er/pay-er or Peh-er. It's certainly not peer with an i.

Peh-er is the closest, kinda like ne-ver. Pe-stop. Errr-stop. You hear the second E. It's definitly not Peer as in Peer pressure :)

But Pay-er isn't close, either. Kinda like Rafa-yell Nadal isn't the same as rafael :)
