Makiri,
Your life has been really full
of demands
and challenges
lately,
with more than
your share
of stress.
If all that
stuff would
disappear,
what an
enormous relief
it would be!
We know reality
isn't that simple,
but we still find
ourselves imagining
what we'd like
to do to help
if we could...
We would share
a heart full of love
for when you're
feeling low,
hang up
an extra-shiny star
for when you're
feeling lost,
or fluff up
your dreams
when you need
fresh hope.
We would give
you the gifts
of strength
and quiet caring,
to be opened
anytime you want...
Remembering that
warm thoughts
and helping hands
surround you.
Makiri, the tennis season is still young and there's a long way to go before the year ends.;) You won a doubles title with Hingis earlier this year in Dubai.:yeah: Let's try to build on that ok?:D

I'll always root for her no matter what as well. She's my favorite and always will be. I just wish she'd have some more success. Maria has too much talent to continue on like this. I would really like for her take control of her career and hire a good coach to help her take it to a new level. She has it in her. All it takes is a little confidence and some good coaching

Of course as fans we all Marias side just we want her to be the best with this high quality potential. She isa more talented player than many top ten players where she must be.
As I ve mentioned before she should get a coach as soon as possible and should set her targets.

Come on MAKİRİ,we all know that u deserve the best

Anything could happen in your tour life or in your ordinary life.
Something good or something bad... But that's the life!
If you confront good things, then, be modest!
If you confront bad things, think positively!
If you get through these hard times, you will be much stronger!
It's just one of the processes to be strong!
Be patient, and Overcome it!
Your fans are always with you!!!
Cheer up! Makiri!

after her wimbledon loss, its time to revive this thread and give maria some encouragement she needs. we're all disappointed in her performances, but seeing her on court, no one can say that she isn't giving 100%. if she keeps putting effort into her training, maybe with a new coach with the hardcourt season coming up and a bit of luck with the draws, maybe we can see the best of makiri by the end of the year. what a great christmas present it would be to see her back in the top 30, and seeded for the aussie open!!

Maria keep your head up, you are better than this and you know it :)

We are your fans and we will stick with you win or lose!

Get some hard training under your belt, enjoy the doubles and get yourself raring and ready to go for the hard court season! :D

Maria doesn't need encouragement. She needs a smart coach, who will make the best use of her talent.

Well after last night's result it seems as if makiri is turning things around.

Taking stock it was no surprise than an up-and-coming player would have a blip, you are no longer an unknown quantity and people work out how to play against you. The first half of this year was wasted by not having a coach but let's all hope Yuri has learnt his lesson.

Makiri at the 2007 Acura Classic
Eventhough you lost in the quarters to Elena, there are alot of positives you can take from this week. You far exceeded anybody's and everybody's expectations. You defeated two top ranked players in consecutive rounds. You were able raise your level of play. You showed heart, grit, and determination to succeed. Your defeat of Jancovic is proof of that. Be proud of what you've done here in San Diego. I'm proud of you. Let's build on this performance and continue the competive form you're molding into the next scheduled tourneys before the USO.

You've Achieved So Much,
Makiri

and doing well whatever you do."

who's willing to try...

You have so very much
to be proud of.

Congratulations
and Best Wishes

Alas, I thought this thread could be consigned to history, but in view of recent events it needs reviving. Whilst difficulties last year could be explained away by her lack of a coach or youthful naiveity, it's much harder to do so now. She has some strapping on her knee, but otherwise looks okay.

She seems to have had a very stable, comfortable life and off-court she seems composed and well-adjusted. All this confuses me as to why she is so lacking in mental toughness on court. She's obviously got the determination to win, but I doubt she has the right mentor. Yuri has obviously failed and Van Harpen may have done some good things on the technical side, but without improving Maria's mentality, that is not enough.

She needs help, but will she get it?

We, members of that forum, would be first to go to help Maria. But the problem is in her head. No kind of coach helps here. Maria must face herself... We support you, our bellissima Makiri!

It's a funny thing you know. A year ago, we were all clamoring for Makiri to hire a coach and so she finally did. I don't think Makiri would have made it far into the Aussie Open if it wasn't for Nick Van Harpen or the othe good results she had late last year. Now, Makiri has to stop lingering about that tough loss she suffered against Dani. The past is the past and there's nothing she can do about that. It's a done deal, get over it Makiri! It's been TWO months already since it happened. It's time to deal with the PRESENT. I just hope she hasn't loss faith in her coach or most importantly HERSELF. If Makiri isn't going to take some time off, she better make the most of it when she plays in Miami. I'm getting frustrated like everyone else with these early round exits.:fiery: Let's prove to everyone that you're NOT an "Actress" on the court as Chaky once said!

OH MY!!! I get outraged every time someone insults Maria as "actress" or "well-looking babe on court". Maria is not Anna Barbie Kurnikova as well as Masha Yuck Sharapova!

Makiri is one of the most lovable tennis players. We have to find real reasons to her poor performance instead of releasing a bunch of malarkey that she doesn't like to play tennis any more!
