I think she might but I am biased.

IMO, she's no longer focused enough on playing tennis, more on "hell, right, so close to being free!" spirit!

I dont think so. She seems content with her US Open

Mar 23rd, 2007, 09:18 AM
well I don't think she skip the clay season and then play both eastbourne and wimbledon for no reason, In don't say she'll win Wimbleodn, but I really think hse's gonna try to get that one before she goes ;)

its going to be almost impossible to win the wimbledon with the williams sisters there...so i will definately say its a bit too hard to be positive.

Mar 23rd, 2007, 09:29 AM
i.e. Will Clijsters win Wimbledon 07?

Gowza
Mar 23rd, 2007, 09:56 AM
well she's not play RG, said she might not play us open so she might only be playing one more grand slam in her career i.e. wimbledon. wimbledon is probably the slam she has the least chance of winning and the williams sisters and sharapova will be there as well as henin (final twice) and mauresmo. so she's probably going to have trouble with at least these 5 at wimbledon which makes it a bit tough for her to win it imo. so probably not but it's possible.

Nope ! She's way too busy with her wedding and housewife plans : Although it's a shame, you have to respect her decision of having other plans in her life than tennis.

Will she win Wimbledon? I dont think so. I wish she plays and wins the USO tho.

If she only plays Wimbledon, then no.

If she decides to play the US, then she definitely has a shot.

Mar 23rd, 2007, 10:27 AM
Well shes not playing RG or the US Open, so Wimbledon is her only shot. I dont think she'll win there with so many superior grass court players in the mix, on top if her not really giving a damn either way.

Without RG and US Open, NO:devil:

i would love her to win but i voted no

had she not limited herself to wimbledon, i might have said yes

Mar 23rd, 2007, 10:57 AM
No. She seems to be contented with her one Slam singles title and IMO not really pushing herself.

Mar 23rd, 2007, 10:57 AM
Well, she's limited her chances to win another Slam down to one opportunity, and so I am 99% sure she'll end her career with 1 slam only.

Mar 23rd, 2007, 10:58 AM
It looks as if she is only going to play Wimbledon, so no

bandabou
Mar 23rd, 2007, 11:21 AM
Nope..sadly, not with this attitude she has now of missing majors and playing so little tourneys. Heck, she's even doubting about playing at the site of her lone major win..tells you all no.

Mar 23rd, 2007, 11:49 AM
:haha:

She's now less interested in tennis than Davenport ever was. Not a good sign. :tape:

Wimbledon is her only slam left if she doesn't play the USO and it is historically her worst.

As much as I'd like her to, it's unlikely she will

No. She plays tennis without any passion this year

trufanjay
Mar 23rd, 2007, 01:59 PM
I am also very very sure that she won't win Wimbledon. Does she even want to win another slam?

Volcana
Mar 23rd, 2007, 02:04 PM
Consdiering she only has one shot to do it ... no. It would make a nice story if she came back from her honeymoon and won the US Open, but while I think she's going be very happy around US Open, the only two things she's going to have used a tennis racket for are ... hmmm, let's not go there. Probably more fun with a racket than using it a tennis court though. :)

I'm a fan and I answered no to that;)

Serena!
Mar 23rd, 2007, 03:41 PM
no. she isnt playing french and maybe not the us open. she has better chances at those two than wimbledon. with venus and serena focused and winning again, they are unstoppable at wimbledon besides maybe maria who isnt playing her best buy by wimbledon im sure she'll be back on track...unless kim plays the us open and plays extraordinary tennis...no.

sundoulos
Mar 23rd, 2007, 04:52 PM
No. She will try to win, but has lost the drive to win. This is her farewell tour and she probably just want to experience the fans.

Mar 23rd, 2007, 04:58 PM
Not unless she can cook it. okay, bad joke.

I think she has a good a shot as any to win Wimbledon and I would love her to so that I can laugh some more at the disdain of posters on this board.

Mar 23rd, 2007, 05:03 PM
No way Clijsters will win another Grand Slam. She has limited her chances to Wimbledon only and I don't think she will even make the finals.

There's only one GS left for her it seems, and unfortunately I don't see her winning it.

Mar 23rd, 2007, 05:18 PM
with only wimbledon left, i think it depends on how much she wants to and how dedicated she is in preparing for it.

she definitely has the game to win it if she is serious. however with marriage planning n other distractions, she might not be able to win it. even she herself admits now her main concern is having fun.

~Eclipsed~
Mar 23rd, 2007, 05:25 PM
Unless she comes back in a few years and tries again, but since her last GS is Wimbledon this year...No i don't think she will win.

Who knows she might comeback even though she says right now she is retiring. I.E. Martina Hingis.

Mar 23rd, 2007, 05:32 PM
the question should be "Will Clijsters win another title this year?" :help:
i'm so disappointed, she has her whole life ahead of her and yet she is limiting herself to only a few tournaments before she retires

No! She can't go two weeks without getting distracted by a butterfly or a gumdrop or something.

Mar 23rd, 2007, 07:45 PM
would love to see her win one more, but cant see it, no chance with wimbledon, and it could be the only slam she plays till she retires, hope she decides to play us open.

I used to be a huge fan of Clijsters. But after seeing her lack of effort this year, and unwillingness to make her last year on tour anything but a prolonged goodbye party, I'm really over her. She's playing the most convoluted schedule, skipping Roland Garros, where despite her claims that she can't play well on clay, she has reached 2 finals and 2 semis. She's probably going to miss the US Open in favor of taking an extended honeymoon. Those two tournaments, apart from the Australian Open, where she played too many warm up matches and went down meekly to a hungrier Sharapova in the semis, would have been her best chance to win a 2nd slam. As numerous others have already stated, Kim has never played her best at Wimbledon. Her resistance to playing aggressive, attacking tennis, rather than retrieving the powerful shots of her opponents, combined with her propensity for missing first serves will likely do her in. Plus, even if she attacks the net and improves her serve, things she should have worked on with a COACH after her US Open win, beating the likes of the Williams Sisters, Sharapova, Henin and Mauresmo on grass is a tall order. I'd love for Kim to get some sense, play a full schedule, and win another slam. I just don't see it though.

Since it sounds like Wimbledon will be her last slam then I have to say she won't.

I have a feeling she will play RG at the last minute, I hope. She said was gonna skip it last year but played anyway.

i don't think she will. hell, even Kim herself might already know that.

I hope she doesn't coz she doesnt derserve anymore titles with her attitude

Shimizu Amon
Mar 24th, 2007, 08:48 AM
She only has a shot at 2 as she is not playing RG.
And I don't see her win one of the others. Sorry.
Would be nice though. But I think there are other players this year who are really in for the titles at Wimbledon and the USO.

Mar 24th, 2007, 09:52 AM
i hope so and at the start of the year had her tipped to win at least 1 but now i dont think she seems to care but i hope she will prove me wrong.. but no matter what she is a champ in my eyes

I wouldn't mind if she did, she's a lovely girl, but I think it's very unlikely. She won't play the French, will play Wimbledon where there are half a dozen players with a bigger chance than her to win and in the unlikely event that she will play the US Open her preperation for that tournament will probably be far from ideal. She just isn't hungry enough, her heart ain't in it anymore.

well, that's also what I think ;)
It will be tougher for Kim to beat Henin than Serena or Venus (I'm not saying that would be easy though...)

What makes you think this?

What makes you think this?
well, because Kim has lost almost every important match against Justine in the last few years... So it will be mentally extremely difficult for her to beat justine

the williams sisters however haven't had to play Kim in a few years... so she will have less difficulty against them, mentally that is.

in my view Justine is as good a player as the williams sisters, so, Justine will be the most difficult to beat ;)
again, just my humble opinion :p
