There is no reason Jelena should be losing a match like this. I hate to say this, but if she really wanted to be back at the top she would have done more to make it happen. I guess life is her priority at the moment.

No, that's not the answer. Jelena's done way too much resting in the past few years. She's got to keep entering tournaments ALL SEASON LONG, no matter what her results, and she's also got to amp up her training.

Which she'll never do as long as she sticks with Borna Bikic as coach.

Things certainly don't look very promising right now. :o

she needed a 2r to get a ranking point (1 point) i think its better she asks for a wc at some tournaments (bigger) then even if she loses she gets a point....even 2 points for a GS....... even thats better then playing 10ks

At the end of 2006 after her tournament in Ismaning everyone was so optimistic  - and yeah, it was not that bad there, reached SF and lost close to Besser (who is a good player) after a long break - and beat for example a Nikola Hofmanova in this event 6-1,6-4....or before in Darmstadt she played a good tournament or at the beginning she almost beat Schruff and Razzano :o

And now? Lost to an unranked player and this week to such a player:mad:

The decision to go away from Pilic was BAD, VERY BAD!

When we remember on former results like:

Dokic def Hingis(1) 6-2,6-0
Dokic def V. Williams(4) 6-1,6-2
Dokic def Mauresmo(6) 7-6,6-1
Dokic def Clijsters(5) 7-5,6-4

Dokic def Capriati(3) 2-6,6-2,6-4
Dokic def Hingis(8) 6-4,6-3
Dokic def Clijsters(1) 1-6,6-3,6-4

etc.

And now:

Dokic LOST to Gatto-Monticone(490) 3-6,4-6
Dokic LOST to Di Guiseppe (UNR) 4-6,4-6
Dokic LOST to Punzo(678) 5-7,5-7
Dokic LOST to Stevenson(610) 6-4,6-7,2-6  ;) ;)
Dokic LOST to Vallverdu-Zaira(647) 0-6,6-4,5-7

There were NOT "many reason" to be optimistic for Jelena.

She had been at Pilic's for a few weeks. Knowing Jelena, absolutely no guarantee that she would stay there for much longer.

She made the semis and lost to Besser. Not exactly promising.

It was way too early for optimism, in fact I'm not the least bit surprised about the current happenings.

Ismaning was OK, Besser is a good player, maybe she had no racquet in her hands for long time before coming to Pilic and Pilic wanted to work on her problems - It was stupid that she isn't there anymore...

I was optimistic, because she practised hard at Pilic, but now? Yeah, she probably is practising 1-2 hours per week :tape: :help:

Even if that is true (which I doubt), you cant just start doing that just before a tournament and expect to be in form.

Jelena doesnt "train" with Borna Bikic. Her practices are jokes, I'm sure. She's lazy, and he's an idiot. And apparently she's pretty large now as a result of her rigorous efforts!

Jelena would rather suck like shit and put in no effort, than put in tons of effort and potentially fail even despite that. I'm sure after the AO loss to Razzano, Jelena's motivation was completely zapped. She's a fragile, mental midget. She lost all the confidence, determination and intensity that made her such a good player to begin with.

I've said it before without really meaning it... but I really mean it this time. It's time for Jelena to stop. I mean, I'd want her to keep trying if she surrounded herself with the right people and was actually motivated, but we all know that will never happen. Plain and simple. Just retire already.

She just said that she gained some extra weight...

That's the point, yeah....she was totally destroyed after losing to her, after losing to Schruff before, she "smiled" about her loss, because her 29 (?) Double-Faults, but against Razzano? Thought she is winner and yeah, the umpire:tape:

And maybe she wanted a new-start and then the split with Pilic after it, and her motivation now is for sure like : ":silly:" - maybe she would have a better one against better players?!

That's truly lovely - some people love to beat them up when they're down. I think she needs just one good break. I hate seeing people getting kicked when they're down, so good for you. Jelena's parents have nearly ruined her life - I personally would like to see her get it all back together again. And she must want to or she wouldn't go through this.

But I do wonder - does anyone know? - how does she and other players survive financially going around these little tournaments? Any big bucks jelena made are probably squandered by all the parasites that hang around successful young players.

I would just LOVE to see what happens on here if Jelena came back strong and went top 30. Remember Capriati and Agassi everyone!
