The link has some lovely photos!

I thought the entire Chinese team was sponsored by Nike? I bet this made Sun Jin Fang happy

I can just see the headlines now:

Sun Jin Fang: Peng Shuai is a rebel. How dare she get sponsored by Adidas without my permission? I denounce this action as unpatriotic. Back in my day....blah blah blah

Sun Jin Fang is just jealous because athletes in China now are rich, whereas when she played, she earned very little. I read the whole ridiculous article on what's in Li Na's bag.

That's great that they picked Shuai. :D

I wonder what the financial arrangement is and does Shuai personally profit or will the fees go to CTA.

nice ad :)

glad they picked someone less known to the western world, but that still has a special story. like that you get to know more people!
I knew about the heart operation, but never heard her talk about it (actually this is the first time I hear a Chinese tennis player speak). the story is quite touching. Shuai's strong!

and oh: 没有不可能 mei(2)you(3) bu(4) ke(3)neng(2) means nothing's impossible in Chinese! I don't think you can say Impossible is Nothing in Chinese ... are there any native speakers that can confirm this?

I absolutely love all the Adidas 'Impossible Is Nothing' ads... and this is my favorite one so far. She's really cute and her story is inspiring. Loved it.

and (after some looking up in my Chinese dictionary)

what she wrote on her painting:
相信自己 xiang(1)xin(4)zi(4)ji(3)
跟着你的 gen(1)zhe(0)ni(3)de(0)
means
"believe in yourself"
"follow yourself"

You're are absolutely right, but if look closely, Peng Shuai drew a heart after the words 跟着你的.....so she was saying "follow your heart".

As for 没有不可能, it literally translates to "there is no impossibility." But translations should never be literal, rather, we should translate according to the meaning, so "Nothing is impossible" is perfect.

Here is another video of Peng Shuai's nothing is impossible campaign in Chinese:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vcxkpp9tGz0

I'll translate:

I'm Peng Shuai. This is my story. When I was 12, I encountered the biggest challenge of my life. Two path diverged: I had to either undergo a dangerous heart surgery or give up my beloved tennis. From then on, I've encountered many more obstacles and I've grown stronger each time. I want to thank my 12 year old self. The little girl then chose to face the obstacle of heart surgery. I gave my heart to tennis. Nothing is impossible!

:worship: So inspiring!

Don't think so. She was Nike all last year, and it's only 10 weeks into the new year.
