What an amazing draw... it's completely packed. There aren't many tournaments a year where it's this high quality!

I'm anxious.

Martina and Daniela are quite good friends and have been for quite some time. Martina wanted to play doubles with her when she 1st came back on tour last year. I have high expectations of this team, despite this difficult draw! :)

Here are the best teams that I see in the draw:

Besides the obvious (Raymond/Stousur, Dechy/Zvonareva, Yan/Zheng, Pascual/Suarez, Black/Huber)

These new teams are flaming HOTT :hearts:

Hantuchova/Hingis :yeah:
Kuznetsova/Petrova
Sugiyama/Srebotnik :)
Ivanovic/Kirilenko :lick:
Vania King/Shahar Peer :yeah:
Penneta/Vinci
Harkleroad/Mattek
Chan/Cheung (who are they? they're actually seeded and I don't know them, which is weird because I love asian doubles team so how did this pair get past my eyes)
Likhotsova/Vesina
Morariu/Schiavone
Clisjters/Maes
Husarova/Shaugnessy (she's still alive!!!)

Hantuchova already has fantastic hands at net ie Indian Wells final. Thank you very much. :)

How can you have missed them? They never miss a final including being runner up at Australian Open.

But the AO featured Chan (TPE) and a Chinese player. I have not seen Cheung anywhere.

That doesn't mean Hantu can't learn from the best (Hingis). I mean, yeah, Hantu was yummy at the net in IW, but Hingis won so many doubles titles (including grand slam doubles) with her fantastic net play. I can definitely see Hantu winning grand slam women's doubles titles, can't you? Thus, she needs to study Hingis just like Hingis is obviously trying to study her. Daniela needs to become the USER instead of simply being used by Hingis.

Wow, it seems like Martina plays doubles with everyone, lol. It's so easy to make friends with Martina.

it's not the 1st time and i already noticed that martina plays doubles with players who beat her regularly in singles ;
as some mentioned above, she'll be able to study daniela's game/reactions ; so playing doubles with daniela will benefit her : i.e. daniela'll be less effective or less aggressive because of the friendship/complicity which will born from these meetings between them !

Nice to see some top girls playing doubles. Some good teams.

I think Martina and Dani will do well, they will have a good time on court and both have a great doubles game. Reminds me of the AO Final those years ago and Dani in her cocktail dress with her cute bob. First round will be interesting. Dani up against her ex doubles partner.

I don't think so actually. They already practice together all the time, and know each other's games really well.
But it should make them a deadly combo!

Theyve made the doubles final in about 18/19 events (had a loss in the semis). Theyve played together for over a year, their like one of the best doubles teams by far......
