Hi Everyone!

My name is Felicity, and I'm an avid Alicia fan! I think she's amazing!!

I think she is particularly amazing to have recovered from that awful inner-ear problem. I say this because I have the exact same thing as she has had and it's absolutely AWFUL:(

It affects you so transversely - I have had it since November last year and it's shockingly awful what it does to you. Your vision is affected, your hearing is affected and so is your balance. I have horrible panic attacks every single day (Anxiety is apparently part of the condition) and I've had to become a virtual recluse because I can't go out or work as I need to be in a very quiet place at all times as noise and movement just makes me ill and dizzy - NOT FUN! :(

It is so hard to deal with because I was such an active person, I used to jog for 10 Km's every day.... so not being able to do that is really hard to take!

I do realise that I WILL make a complete recovery - but it can be very hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel at times.

I was wondering if anyone knows of how I could contact Alicia by letter to let her know what an absolute inspiration she is to me. If she can get better to be able to play tennis once again at a professional level then I certainly will become well enough to jog cross-country again at a non-professional level!!

I am on a few support groups of the condition, but would really love to write to Alicia!!

Does anyone have a valid address I could use? I've searched the 'net extensively - but to no avail - so hoping you can be of some assistance!

Cheers for now,

Felicity :)

Hey Felicity, its sad to hear about your problem, my mum had it (well still has it, once you have it, it will always be in ur body), and she gets attacks sometimes. Alicia is my idol, she is such an inspiration. I sent her a letter mid december last year and i am yet to get a reply, but i know how busy she is so i don't really expect one. And, i don't even know if she got it. I sent it to:

Alicia Molik

Not sure if it works. But thats all i got! Goodluck.

Nicola :)

You could also try writing to Tennis Australia, explain your story to them, and see what advice they might have in contacting Alicia.

Thank-you everyone for the Welcome!:D

Thank-you also for your ideas on how I can contact Alicia - I will most certainly check them all out!!

I know she is very busy, so I wouldn't expect a reply either - but I just wanted to let her know that she is what is motivating me to get better! I can see how well she is now, so that is inspiring me!!

Did any of you Aussie fans see her on Dancing with the Stars last year? When she did that spinning on the floor bit I was like, WOW!! Look at that! If Alicia can do that, there is certainly hope that I can do that too in time!!":D

I WILL make a complete recovery - but it could just take 18 months. I might just have a bit of a balance problem (but that doesn't worry me!) My hearing and vision will make a complete recovery......:D Thank goodness for that!! I have to be very patient though... which is something I am not!

Anyway, thanks for your ideas...... I'll begin action on them now!!

Cheers,

Felicity

PS: I have to say this, I think Andre' Agassi is the most divine sportsman in the history of sport!!;) :worship: He got me interested in tennis, and helped me discover Alicia!! Now I am a complete tennis fanatic and love everything about it!!:D

Yeah, i hope you have more success in writing to her than i did. I have no idea where my letter is right now. I hope you recover well. Yeah, she was funny on dancing with the stars. Not the best dancer but......it was good to watch anyway :p. Let me know if you are successful in getting another address or a reply!

Im pretty sure that's old and not valid any longer. I have a current contact email somewhere, I'll try look it out and pm it to the original poster.

That would be wonderful if you could pass on a current contact email so that I can send her a letter. :) Thank-you!:)

The sooner I send it off the better!

(I've already finished half of it!)

Cheers and Thanks for all your ideas, this site has been the most helpful that I've came across!:)

I havent forgot about this, the address is on my other PC. It's a bit of a hassle to get it out from where it's now stored but as soon as I get a chance i'll get it looked out.
