I personally am having dreams at night about seeing Maria and Vaidisova. That HAS to happen soon, doesn't it???

That said, I always enjoy seeing Maria play Myskina and Zvonareva.

From a purely competitive standpoint, i'd love to see how she stacks up now against Jankovic and Saferova, since they've been so hot this year.

Well for the Maria of 2007, I would be a little  if she plays ANYBODY at the moment.

I think her playing Jankovic would be interesting, they have quite different playing styles. And yes, Maria needs to play Vaidisova at some point.

Her and Nikki and Jelena would be awesome. But I really want a rematch with Ana

I also would love a rematch with Serena and Masha coming from behind to beat Serena being down match point ;)

Its funny how Maria has managed to miss meeting Nicole (except for the infamous WTT set after her Wimbledon win)

It would be an interesting match-up.

Ummm...I'd like her to get back to her US Open '06 form first...then she could play...Vaidisova and have some rematches with Ivanovic and Serena.

It is quite interesting she hasnt played Vaidisova.

And I always like her matches with Justine (the recent ones except the YEC 06)...always very competitive and they have respect for one another. I hope it's another final between them in Dubai.

Anna Kournikova and Maria Kirilenko. ;) Also Nicole Vaidisova. It will be interesting to see how Maria deals with playing a younger Bollettieri bred tennis player who has a big game and huge upside like Masha does.

If it would've been possible Steffi Graf. For now I would love to see her get back at Rena and Ana.

Hamstring could have a huge impact on her game. The serve is almost all legs. If one of her wheels was flat, it was bound to have an effect. Just think about her service motion--she transfers weight back and forth with that rocking motion, even before she lunges forward into the serve. That's alot of leg motion. If she was tight there, or in pain, it would certainly affect her extension and follow through.

I just hope it isn't a nagging injury--i.e., if she has to pull out of 1 or 2 events now to completely get over it, then she should, rather than play at 75% for the next several events.

Kournikova would have been great! Aah can you imagine the attention? They should play doubles for an exhibition or something, that would be nice.

Bleh I dont like her matches with Kirilenko. It takes a while before Maria's killer instict surfaces and Kirilenko seems to know Maria's game.

And about Bollitieri, anybody correct me if I'm wrong but historically, Maria's hasn't done as well as she should against fellow Bollitieri players. Yes, she's won most of her matches against them but always seemingly with a struggle (3 sets for example, tight two setters)...I guess it makes sense cause these girls like Tatiana and Jelena know her game quite well and plus, Maria always goes into these matches a bit nervous as she wants to win them badly. You always want to do better than those you grew up with I guess. And I think she wants to keep the status quo - Maria's always been better than the other girls even at Bollitieri. I think Tati even said that Maria used to double bagel her when they were little and even then she never got to beat Maria...ever.

With Maria winning again.

i wanna see sharapova up against the men... you guys think she have any chance of cracking the top 50 if she played on the men's circuit?

I think she can give roger a run for his money :worship: (win a couple games would be decent against federer :D )

Bridgitte Wilson, but only if she possessed at least a fraction of her husband Pete Sampras' tennis skills.

She's the only reason why I still watch replays of "Mortal Kombat" and "Billy Madison."

And Maria vs. Vika Azarenka, purely for the grunting contest.

Got news for you--at Wimbledon in '04, it was Maria who was up the night before with flu, and she pushed Serena off the court. When she is healthy, she is as good as anyone in the world.

Masha is still growing towards her peak and I wouldn't wanna bet my money on who would win. It could go both ways. Don't underestimate Masha, she is one of the best power players out there these days.

seriously?

anna kournikova. (tennis' most recent sex symbols, and both russian, too. but see also comments on chris evert below)

a prime monica seles (there would be two contests, really, one being the tennis match, the other being the screaming match. and yeah, I am a FAN.)

chris evert (two of tennis' blonde sex symbols, and two who could actually win. of course, so could gaby sabatini and mary pierce, which leaves anna k. as the only one who couldn't, at least in singles)

serena (for obvious reasons. her true rival, even though they're spaced far apart in tennis years. serena is an all-time great, as she proved in both '05 and '07 AO, you cannot count her out, as long as she can move her feet and swing. maria should welcome any match with serena, as should her fans.)
