Im playing in a tournament this weekend!

Im pretty excited. I have played USTA events before but now I am in the B16's. This is teh event where I won my first B14 match. Im excited and I will keep you guys updated. Wish me luck and pray!!

Hope too....I play the 3 seed but he hasnt played in almost a year and the conditions should be rough...its muggy and cold and its at 8:30 am and on clay

What section of USTA are you in?

I'd love to play on clay. Where I am, all there is is hardcourt or carpet.

Im in the southern section...im playing in a level 5...im kind of injured with shin splints and a back problem from a car accident nearly a year ago but i believe and if i think like serena did at the aussie....i can pull through....

There aren't a lot of crowds at USTA tournaments unless you are in the big tournaments like the Easter Bowl, Orange Bowl, etc. ;)

Just usually friends and family. ;)

It definitely deserves a thread, not that I would do the same. But I am currently working hard (as in training) so I can play in my first tournament (I am 20 yr old btw), possibly 3.5 - 4.0 during the summer. So I am kinda feeling it for you, GOOD LUCK! WAY TO GOOOO! WOOOHOO!

I lost to the 3 seed 6-1,6-2 but I played very well. I play in 7 hours again in a consolation.....I think I can win this one....the guy i face was playing next to me :tape: he lost 6-0,6-2

I just wonder...how is he 3. seed if he hasn't played for a year :shrug:

Level 5 seems a little high to start at no?

I started playing USTA tournaments in the New England Section around September in the B16s an I managed a record of like 4-5 and got up to like 265 out of like 380 or something, and that was just by playing Level 7s. I aged up in January though, and I've only played a couple B18s (1-2).

But good luck, it's nice to see another USTA player in here ;)

And now I've got to ask you guys for some advice :lol:

There's a couple Level 6s coming up and I so far have only played Level 7s, should I enter the 6s? I guess the worst thing that can happen is I lose right :shrug:

In Texas we don't have levels :scratch:

I quit playing in the USTA though, maybe I'll start up again for the U18's since I will turn 17 in a few days! :)

I play USTA tournaments too.

I have only played level 8 tournaments and they are so easy. I won 2 over the summer and made a final recently.

I have been trying to get into higher level tournaments, but every time I enter I dont get in. I have entered about 3 by now in the past few months and did not make it in one. It sucks :o

I won my match 6-0,6-0 but then I lost to a well known city player 6-4,6-1...I had chances for 5-5 but I couldnt convert...Great tournament and my first ever final

A year later and I am playing it again. I play the 4th seed (wierd how I play a seedin R1) Im a way better player. This guy has done well in the 14s so I just want to play my game and see what I can do. KevRulz09 and I are are playing the 16 doubles...here is the link....

Kev won 1st match but lost 2nd. :sad:

The score says 0 and 2 but there were a lot of close games.

My consolation match I should have won. I just couldnt play my game and he played decent enough to pull out the win. I later found it was his 1st event and he got his supplies the day before at Wal mart. His mom is a single mom with 4 kids and had to hire a private nurse because he has a deaf and blind sister in vegetable state. I felt so bad but fortunate enough tohave the things in life and that I take granted for some things. I wish his family the best in life and hopefully I will meet him again. They deserve a miricle.
