She rarely retires in a match so clearly, something must be wrong.
In GM, they were talking how Maria didn't want to get her ass kicked that's why she retired. People nowadays are getting pathetic. If what they are saying is true, why didn't Maria retire when Davenport double bagelled her and at the AO final against Serena? I just hope this injury isn't as serious as her shoulder injury in 2005. Will she be able to play in Dubai?

I don't know how serious it is, I just hope she can recover quickly.

All I know is that Maria has had some pretty bad losses in her career where she didn't retire, it was 1-0 for her in the second set, not really a reason to retire because you are afraid to 'get your ass kicked' that's just not Maria.

Get well soon Maria

It's probably touch and go whether she will Dubai or not, depends on how bad the tear is.

Too right Jakim, there isn't an ounce of quit in Maria.

Seems to be a bit of a rocky start to this season (even with making it to the Aussie finals)...
But then again, the first half of last season was marred by injury and disappointments as well and then Maria came out on fire during the summer hardcourt season.
Of course, no complaints if she starts kicking ass way before the summer :smoke: ;)
