Good luck in Pattaya Makiri!:) I'm expecting her to go deep in the tourney and have great results here.;) Possibly winning the title:yeah:
Feb 3rd, 2007, 04:56 AM
its a very weak field, i think the only person makiri would struggle against is Mirza
Feb 3rd, 2007, 06:13 AM
Go Makiri :aparty:
Feb 3rd, 2007, 06:19 AM
I think Maria is the favourite to win because Marion lost 6-0 6-2 in the first round of Tokyo, Mara is so inconsistant, Mirza is also very inconsistant and I cannot see her winning this event, most of the other players are fairly average.
Come on Maria!
Feb 3rd, 2007, 06:23 AM
Very weak field indeed, she should go deep into this event.
Feb 3rd, 2007, 01:13 PM
I'm going to try and not expect too much right now. She has to face Nicole Pratt first.

Makiri lost to Pratt 6-7 6-2 5-7... ... ...:sobbing:...:hysteric: First, my beloved Chicago Bears lose the SuperBowl and now this...:crying2:What a crappy week for me! Makiri get yourself a coach please! Preferably David Taylor since you had success with him in the past. What do you have to lose in hiring a coach, besides your confidence, your ranking, etc.?
Feb 6th, 2007, 03:13 PM
:( Can;t believe she lost, this was a perfect tournament to get the the SF or higher and a perfect motivation boost.....
Too bad too bad
Feb 6th, 2007, 08:55 PM
I cant believe she lost either and to Pratt. UGHHHHHH !!!!!!! I really thought she had the potential t go all the way in this tournament after starting the year so much more positively.
Feb 6th, 2007, 10:34 PM
sad lose and a tough score!
I cant even believe she lost!
Feb 7th, 2007, 03:09 AM
Another wasted opportunity for Masha. I don't think we have to worry about her losing her confidence because it's already lost. A new coach is a necessity and she has to make the decision here. It is about time she cut Yuri out of the decision making process because ever since he got involved in her career it has been a disaster. Come on Maria!! Take control of your career!!
Feb 7th, 2007, 03:18 AM
does anyone by chance know where she plays next?
Feb 7th, 2007, 03:47 AM
Her next tourney will be at Dubai. ;)
GOOD LUCK MAKIRI! :)
Feb 7th, 2007, 04:07 AM
and most definitely good luck Makiri
Feb 7th, 2007, 09:05 AM
I cant believe she lost again but i agree that she must get a coach as soosn as possible. She is talented, has the power, beauty, good attitude and not arrogant. so everything sh needs to prove herself. If she keeps her consistency she can be the real number one in the world, cant she?

What of Kirilenko. She lost 7-6 2-6 7-5 to Nicole Pratt, who had actually also won both of their previous meetings so perhaps another was on the cards. But it was desperately close. In the final set, Pratt recovered a break and then held a break point at 4-3 to serve for the match. Then Kirilenko held two break points at 5-5 that would have seen her serve for the match. Instead, Pratt held, and then broke for 7-5 and a very satisfying victory.

Shows we need to take it one match at time coz everyone started to look ahead in the draw! but still
MK find a coach :p (like everyone else said ;))
Feb 8th, 2007, 06:43 PM
That loss was really bad but I'm sure Makiri will be back stronger next tourney :)
