As an alternate, Paola has a chance to play, but only if many other players withdraw.

I don't know exactly where she is on the alternate list right now, so unfortunately I can't tell you how many players must withdraw for Paola to get in. But I think her chances are not good at all. :sad:

The qualifying positions (aside from wild cards) are granted by ranking, and unfortunately, Paola's singles ranking is low. :sad:

Not as many players signed up for Indian Wells as signed up for Miami. So there were not as many players ahead of Paola on the IW entry list, and her ranking was high enough to get her in there, after just a few players withdrew.
