I know it's probably me being paranoid, but i get the feeling some people on her think myskina isn't going to return to the tour.

I really hope not, i really really really want to see her back in action.

So, is she gonna come back? I'm pretty sure she will, I just want info on her injury! There seems to be nothing about it anywhere.

You concered myskina fans should englighten me!

It was her first match, and she was injured. So it's hard to judge how well she's playing, and we have to wait until she recovers, and gets into match play form again.
I don't think she's going to the US in April.
I hope she does.

From Matt Cronin-

The word off the court is that Anastasia Myskina, who pulled out of the AO with a foot injury, won’t be back on tour until March at the earliest. The ’04 Roland Garros champ’s next tournament could be Indian Wells, but it’s no sure thing and there is a chance that she may not return until the clay-court season in April. Her coach, Jens Gerlach, says that this time, she won’t come back until she’s 100 percent fit.

We must be patient, like Nastya. She must take her time, not to return too quickly. She must return in good health. She'll probably return for the clay season, perhaps before if she is to 100%. We must wait even if the tournaments are a little boring without Nastya :)

I'm 100% confident for the come back of Nastya :bounce: :bounce:

I prefer she don’t come back until she’s 100 percent fit.
She came back to soon, that's why she's again injured today !!!

I'm not worried for her motivation.

I miss Anastasia Myskina just as much as you do.:crying2:
But let wait and see.:crying2:
Sorry I already cry again.:crying2:
She must soon be good with the foot.:)
Btw. I know about an Russian site where Anastasia writes message (you know privete message) to members.
Do any of you (perhaps) have the link to that site?
I would like to ask her some questions, namely.

Love you all here

From Matt Cronin - The injured Anastasia Myskina will try to return at IW, but she's still up in the air. Forget about Dubai and as I wrote last week, she may not return until the clay court season. Her coach says that this time, she's not getting back on tour until she's 100 percent healthy.

It all seems pretty positive she is.

The article is probably just mentioning the players who are on the entry list. And since Nastya hasn't officially withdrawn yet they will still promote her.

It's because her grandma was from Central Asia - Kyrgyzia, if I am correct.

No. She won't fly to USA. We won't see her on court before Warsaw (April, 30th). And it's the most optimistic scenario.

I doubt it. I think it is a big myth that Nastya is a good clay court player. She has played exactly one good tournament on clay. It just so happened that she won a grand slam at that tournament.

I think there are a number of better clay court players out there.

To be honest USO is Nastya's worst Slam. She was lucky to get to the quarters in 2003 through the draw that included the likes of Serra-Zanetti, Sanchez-Lorenzo and unfit Pierce.
For some reason she always plays her worst tennis in New York, in USA overall, in fact.

US Open may be her worst slam but she is still better on hardcourts then on clay.

Well despite what the stats say I think clay is her worst surface. Her biggest title came on clay but she only has one other meaningless title on the surface.

Of course she has never won a title on grass but been close a lot and the season is considerably shorter.

She can play anywhere, any surface.

Clay being her worst surface... I don't think so. Im pretty sure she's had all her 'firsts' on clay... first ITF title win: on clay, first WTA title: on clay, first GS title: on clay.

I've always believed that when in form, Nastya plays her best tennis on clay... her games suited to the surface. The fact that she doesn't consistently play well on clay is due to her calender being based around playing more hardcourt events (or surfaces similar). Nastya is a player who needs many, many matches under her belt for her to play well. That's why I believe that given the chance at RG (that;s if we see her in the second week) given the long matches, Nastya could contend for that slam.

In 2004 she played only 3 matches (losing 2 of them) on clay before Roland Garros. In fact during the span between Indian Wells and Roland Garros Nastya played 5 matches (2 in Fed Cup, 2 in Berlin and 1 in Rome) and lost 3 of them.

Hey guys...
Nothing new about the baby?
I mean, she probably has something to do now. Maybe commenting Fedcup for russian tv? (yeah, let me cry)
Maybe training hardly for the end of the season...
Or, most probably filing entries or registrations for Melzer tournamemts (oh let me cry more and more)

Oh, this may make me persona non grata around here, but I've really pretty much resigned myself to Nastya not coming back.

It was a fun, whacky, implausible and always exciting ride while it lasted, and if it was too short then it's all the sweeter for it.

As a Nastya fan, all I want is for her to be happy--whether that means playing tennis, hosting sports shows, getting married and having kids or all of the above in varying degrees. She may not have been the most dominating, or the best, or the most accomplished, but she'll always be the first. And nobody, NOBODY was more entertaining to watch (not even my beloved Lena D.).
