I was a little bit shocked at Yan's early exit. But Takao and Hsieh seemed not at their best, especially Hsieh, she needs to work on her consistensy. She can play really incredible tennis for few games but ends up losing a match with UEs everywhere.Nevertheless,I'm glad to see that she finally looks more happy out on the court now. :) Best of luck in the future Su-Wei.
Oh Chin-Wei...,I just felt pity for her. That was such a good chance but wasted. But from what I've seen and heard, she absolutely has top 100 potential. So keep going Chin-Wei,you can make it. :D

Bad luck i guess.

Hopefully there are more asian qualifiers in French and Wimby. :)

I hope Tammy and Hsieh will play double together.

Yes but there are many Asian players in the main draw:

Shuai Peng
Tamarine Tanasugarn
Ai Suigyama
Jie Zheng
Akiko Morigami
Aiko Nakamura
Meng Yuan
Na Li
Sania Mirza

----------------------------------------------------

There are many Asians in the main draw so its not really surprising that some of the weaker asians are left in qualies. Many asians are getting good rankings for main draws. Je ne me plains pas!

I hope Su-Wei is playing doubles.

Su-Wei was in bad form and she had to face Tamira of all players. Bad draw all around.

Morita would have qualified if she didn't choke against Poutchek. I'm sure she will be in future MD's of Grand Slams.

Yanchong Chen also had a great chance to qualify if she hadn't had cramps in the first round.

I didnt really expect much from the others, especially since Su Wei's been injured and not in good form.

Whoa, hold on there Silver Moon, don't be too hard on them. yep it's disappointing but there are other asian players in the main draw. The qualifier tournament of any grand slam is never as easy as people think. And they will improve as the mature. ;)

Well Zi's loss was a bit disappointing, and Su-Wei's loss too. Losing to Tamira is understandable, but winning 2 games is :tape:

Morita's lose annoyed me most.

What's happening with Angelique Widjaja? She's ranked 227. I assume that would have been high enough to get into the qualies. But she didn't play? Has she retired?

she entered originally with a SR of 122 to play in qualies
then she changed her entry to MDO

Widjaja's Entry ranking was 228 and the final Cut-off ended on 225.

So far I remeber did she withdraw or was MDO with SR.

That's a bit harsh on Ayumi. Just because she choked this time doesn't mean she is overrated. ;)

Please....She IS THE FUTURE OF ASIAN TENNIS! She's 16 years old, you're already ready to lay judegment on her? She would have qualified had she not choked at the end there. Settle down.

Thanks for ur comment, markhingis...missleading title, eh? I was simply being spontaneous...What I meant actually no one from qualifying round could qualify into MD...Sorry, FYI - English is my 3rd language...My native tongue is Javanese coz I am originally from Java island (to be exact Central Java state)...

FYI, when Angie arrived in Doha to play Asian Games, she got ear infections (both ears) then she played only doubles after she slightly recovered. Then Angie went back to Indonesia and over X-mas holiday till new year came, she got nasty flu so then she decided to withdraw from AO's qual since she thought she did not have enough preparation. She just resumed her training this week!:)
