Who cares about seed haha. Um...I'm voting for Schnyder, first round. Schnyder, Dementieva, Hingis and Safina are the weak links in the top ten right now.

Safina is 0-3 as a top ten player, with losses to Hantuchova, Chakvetadze, and Pratt.

Dinara was ill last fall. And that Pratt match meant nothing.
Dinara has a tough draw, but she'll do well here.

yeah i think schnyder deserves to get out of top ten

after gold coast, 2 victories over sharapova, with others over mauresmo,clijsters,dementieva,kuznetsova, i dont see how dinara could be a weak link

Schnyder always does well at AO. The surface really suits her style of game, so she'll do well again.

Safina is 0-3 as a top ten player, with losses to Hantuchova, Chakvetadze, and Pratt.

There is no shame in losing to Pratt :o

But goldenlox is right that match was meaningless. Safina did just win a title a few days before.

But I tend to think Safina isn't so great. I'm still surprised she has made top 10.

Er Garbin. Hantuchova wont lose in the first round. Out of the top ten, maybe Safina... she's too one dimensional and at any time she could have a shocker. Martina rarely gets beaten easily, and if she does it's done with brute power. Martina loves rebound ace and I believe that when she gets enough matches under her belt she'll give the title a shot.

Personlly i think Santangelo will be the 1st seed to go & the 1st Top 10 player to go will be Safina. But i could be wrong though.

The first seeds to lose (in the 1st round) will be Anna-Lena Groenefeld :tape:, Marion Bartoli :o, Anabel Medina Garrigues ;) and hopefully Kata Srebotnik (cos thatll mean Casey won a round at AO :D)

Yes, It's a very difficult 1st rd. That being said, I believe Martina is 6-0 against Nat, including 2 wins over her in 2006 so I hope she has the confidence to get through this! :eek: Come on Martina!
